Hi guys. Installing one of my older orange sticker APEX on the 2nd tank. Got connection issue with Apex Fusion.

I hardwired the APEX brain to the router. connected EB8. Did an Initiate all Memory to reboot the entire APEX.

made a new Fusion account. clicked Link Apex.

Apex display shows APEXFUSION NO COMM..

Apex IP address is same as router.

not sure what else to do?

ughhh... I think the issue is with a bad ethernet line... spent hours running a 150ft wire.. fml..

If you need the tool to replace the connectors...let me know. I have one that you can borrow. I think I also have a couple of unused connectors in my tool box.

thanks guys. this is the older orange sticker APEX. I don't want to get another router and setup wireless on it. people say wireless doesn't work as well either.

I was able to get another cable, redrill the holes that I kalked up already.. and rewired the whole thing lol.. works now at least

You don't need to get another router. All you need is a wifi adapter and you're set. The adapter connects to your wifi wirelessly and then it supplies an ethernet connection to your Apex.
I've never had issues with wireless and I run two separate Apex in the house.

I actually don't get this either. Maybe the people saying it doesn't work as well didn't invest in a good wifi router for their home to begin with, but that would affect all devices, not just the Apex. Next time you are at my place remind me to show you my setup. I just use a 25 dollar wifi gaming adapter and it's been working solid for 2 years. The configuration part was easy too... Just hold down two buttons for 30 seconds lol

The wifi dongle I have tried a few times. I used the Netgear wce2100 and another netgear wifi extender. They need to be rebooted once in a while or the Apex loses connection to the router. I don't know if the $25 Tri uses can avoid this, but even the routers need reboot sometimes. Even my modem needs to be rebooted once in a while....

Oh yes, my router, cable modem, might not be the best, but so far I don't have many ssues

Didnt realize it was that simple.. always read wireless had issues. Also on top of that i am retarded when it comes to routers, extension, wifi n such.. i had trouble using wireless on the new Apex for my own tank lol. I ran a 100ft wire just last month hooking up my new apex

Sounds like you had a bad or a cheap router. Good routers start at 200 bucks. It's the backbone of a network, so I bought a decent one. I can say we hardly need to reboot unless the internet was really out and I'm just troubleshooting.

The better the router, the better it is at dealing with multiple device requests.

Well, let's see what router you use so I can copy. Which wireless dongle are you using?

Well, I checked and my router is the R6200, AC 1200 dual band gigabit router. ... Yes, not $200. More like $20 :-)
