If you want to help test the latest firmware for the Apex, then read on. Don't expect this release to be perfect - that is why it is a beta release. If for any reason you are not comfortable putting beta firmware in your controller, I recommend that you wait for the final release.

This release adds the following features:

- iphone application enhancements.
- web server enhancements.
- misc bug fixes.

The firmware can be downloaded from:

My observations...

Web pages are nice and snappy with:
FireFox 9 (Win7-64 and OSX Lion)
Safari 5.1 (Win7-64 and OSX Lion)
Chrome 16 (Win7-64)
Internet Exploder 9 (Win7-64)
I've seen *no* hangs or slow loading with FF/Safari/Chrome as was the norm for me prior to this beta release. Although a bit slower (as expected), web pages even load fine when using my notebook on a 3G broadband connection vs. a direct local network connection. I'm quite happy about this very-positive change!

IE9/64-bit is jerky & sluggish (no surprise - this is typical for 64-bit IE, IME).

Y-Axis graticule lines on the graphs don't show up when using IE9-64; this has always been the case for me with the JavaScript-based graphs introduced with 4.05 firmware. No big deal... this is really just cosmetic.

Safari and Chrome both exhibit an annoying white flash when changing pages.

The drop-down menus still don't work on iPhone/iPad w/ IOS 5 (but this isn't actually an Apex problem - it's due to a known bug in Mobile Safari)

Pinch/zoom no longer works with iPhone/iPad running IOS 5.0.1 This isn't too bad on iPad, but the inability to zoom in renders the Apex web pages unusable on my iPhone 4... I can't even read the outlet names on the status page. I have made a slight modification to the web code, which eliminated this problem without causing any adverse functional effects that I can see. I will continue testing some more, and if I don't find any issues with the tweak I made, I'll provide the details to Curt.

What differences other than speed have you noticed on the Web Interface. Only difference I see is the fonts are slightly larger.

I had to refresh 3 times to get a graph to display in FF 8 the first time I used it, but it seems OK now. The white flashes are a bit annoying.

The new outlet set up window is smaller with a horizontal scroll bar. I don't know if that's an improvement, but it seems to be new to me.

Page loads seem much faster - thanks Curt!

Just upgraded. Routine upgrade but my Conductivty went from 35.1 to 40.4. Can I pull it down in the probe calibration window?

Ooh, Russ, sorry. I was supposed to do that. Let me check now...
No prob! Thank you! That PM I sent you asked if you would please test a web page tweak I made on my own Apex (since I don't have an Android device). Also looking to find out if anyone has any issues with the stock 1A12 pages when accessed from an Android device.

Here is how it looks on my Droid Razr at the initial screen:

When I scroll to the right to see the table it looks like this:

Pinch to zoom does NOT work. It seems to try but snaps back to the original size.

I'll check my tablet at lunch when I go home.

Russ-
I am running a Lenovo ThinkPad with Android.

Pinch to zoom does not work for me. I can zoom out, but not in. Also graphs don't show up.

I had the same issues with the Android Browser and Firefox.

I can test the modification on an iPod touch when I get home if you want.
