Apex Firmware Update - 4.12 Beta

For the Blackberry folks like myself. Zoom does not work, but the larger fonts help, so not necessarily needed. Looks fine on my 9860 O7 without any zoom needed. Graphs, the same, will open to the screen but no data is displayed. Screen is more or less identical to HeneryH post.

Russ-
I am running a Lenovo ThinkPad with Android.

Pinch to zoom does not work for me. I can zoom out, but not in. Also graphs don't show up.

I had the same issues with the Android Browser and Firefox.

I can test the modification on an iPod touch when I get home if you want.
I already tested with iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch all running IOS5.0.1. No pinch/zoom with stock pages, works fine with my little mod.

So we have 2 people with no pinch/zoom on Android devices with the 4.12 beta web pages. Anyone else? And just a thought... does pinch/zoom on Android work with 4.11 firmware/web pages?

I backed a rev and my conductivity came right back to normal. Definately a little bug there.

There was a bug that was fixed so you will need to re-calibrate your probe before it will read correctly; the error was small but when used with an older calibration value it can be more than you would expect to see.

I experienced an instance today where I needed to reboot to get the web server back.

Not sure if it was a one-off anomaly or related to the previous web server problems.

I'll keep this thread posted on any future web server lock-ups.

I tried calibrating my conductivity probe and nothing happens when I click "Finish" after the probe value settles in the conductivity solution - the final calibration screen, with the "Finish" button just remains on the screen. I can keep pushing "Finish", but nothing...

I am really liking how the drop down menus appear quickly when the page loads up so you can get on with what you are logging into the controller to do!

I also had to reboot at least once with the new update because the webserver was not responding.

Anyone experiencing the web server hang bug with the 4.12 beta should email support@neptunesys.com directly so they can better track the issue.

The symptoms of the bug are:

  • Web pages become inaccessible (404 error or Page Not Found) when accessing the controller locally.
  • The controller responds to pings (open a Command Prompt and type in 'ping 192.1681.50' using the actual IP address)
  • You can still telnet into the controller (see the unofficial guide for instruction on using telnet)
  • Alarm emails still can be sent
  • Rebooting the controller restores web access
If you can access the controller web pages while your computer or other device is on the same network as the Apex, but cannot access it when away from home, then you have a different problem than the web server bug.

If you cannot ping and telnet and/or the controller won't send emails, then you have a different issue.

Just loaded the Beta and the web pages are better but I still get issues on the Graphs page (Where you load several JS files)

Looking at the HTTP traffic I can see that I get an empty page retruned for a JS file (I used to get the HTTP_SERVER_ERROR), I have to hit refresh and then once all the JS files are cached the web pages work fine. I am using IE9.

For now I went back to offiloading the JS,CSS pages to another server and then removing all the bitmaps and my pages render fine.

Also I removed this line "<meta name = "viewport" content = "user-scalable=no, width=device-width">" from header.inc to get zooming working on my android again.

John

One other thing I noticed is that the Status page does not refresh correctly after the minute timer. When i try to manually go to /cgi-bin/status.cgi all I get is an empty page returned.

John

will the update work with this model...thanks

Any chance that there will be a new iphone App with the final release, that allows up to modify profiles and outlet programming?

That would be awesome!!! I know you can access the interface via the browser, but via the iphone app would make it that much better.
