I have set up most of my apex but the email. I don't know what I am not understanding. I got Uverse ATT and have my apex hard lined. I have it set up on phone, Ipad and can access it from the web on outside network.
Asking for the pro's help.

Tagging along for this I'm having trouble with mine as well. I believe you may have to set up a email account for the apex but I'm not sure.

From Uverse
IP Address 75.9.170.227
Subnet Mask 255.255.252.0
Default Gateway 75.9.168.1
Primary DNS 68.94.156.1
Secondary DNS 68.94.157.1

I have a gmx account set up. I even have port forwarding on Uverse and on gmx accounts but emails never show up at gmx. I can keep trying. Let me know if you can read my apex network set up. I can just type it up. I keep resizing the pictures but still out of focus. I have basic network skills n such but I always feel like I have more to learn in this department. Can do a full PLC, HMI and remote access but cant figure this out.

port forwarding is for inbound traffic only - nothing to do with outbound email.

there's instructions for troubleshooting email in the Ref Manual using telnet. If you'll run that and post the results of the log, we can help figure out what's going on.

says 250 is best command. Still no email in my box.

Thanks for the heads up on telnet. Seemed to figure it out. I changed my primary DNS to 192.168.1.254 same as gate way and 2nd DNS to 192.168.1.1. I also changed my to address from my gmail to gmx which I have forwarded to my gmail anyways. Set email outlet ON with 1 minute delay. Seem to be getting emails every minute now.

this isn't correct. If the router address is .254, then using it as a DNS server is fine. But I say with near absolute certainty that 192.168.1.1 is not a valid DNS server on your network. Change the Alt DNS to 8.8.8.8, or make it the same as the primary - 192.168.1.254.

Also - don't use a re-email delay of only 1 minute, even just for testing. Use 3 minutes for testing. In real life, a value of 30-60 is good.

I also changed my to address from my gmail to gmx...

When I set mine up, I couldn't get it to send to Gmail, so I tried sending it to GMX and it worked fine with no other changes. Both go to my computer and phone, so I didn't bother messing with it more. I wonder if there is some setting that just doesn't work with Gmail.

It's a known issue, well documented in the setup instructions. Gmail and any email service that requires SSL encryption is not supported by the Apex. Problem with AT&T is that it looks like they've changed their service and where they didn't use to require SSL, it appears they now do.

I was using my GMX to send an email to my Gmail. I tried it about 10 times and it was successfully texting me, but the email from GMX to Gmail wasn't working and it wasn't in the spam folder either. Once I set it to send to GMX, it worked fine.

It appears that the OP and I had the same issue where the Apex was set to use the GMX account as the sender with the Gmail as the recipient, but the email wouldn't go through. Once the recipient was changed to GMX, it works.

Apex Manual said:
One email service that is free and doesn’t require SSL is GMX (www.gmx.com) and you can use their email server to send email directly to your SSL email account like Gmail or Hotmail.

It's possible something has changed at GMX where they're no longer permitting their servers to pass-thru to other services. GMX has had some funky things going on lately. I'll do some testing.

That is my feeling as of now. Hopefully the R&D department lets us know the same(aquamanic). Set up text as well. Now I don't even care about email;). Always good to redundancy.
