Apirl Meeting

just got off the phone with the zoo. we're all set for a tour I just need to get back with them about a date. and roughly how many people we'll be touring.

Can we get the tour on the 19th and right now it looks as if we will have at least 25 people?

Once we have the date firmed up we can decide on what we want to do about food, pot luck style or bring your own.

Sorry, I'm participating in a huge disaster preparedness exercise on the 19th (an earthquake hits Memphis on the 19th and we must spring into action!). Another fun meeting spoiled becuase duty calls. :(

I'm assuming that this will be a back enterence type thing where we won't be going through the zoo. If this is a meeting then someone will need to arrange the dining area and a group discount. Is that what you're thinking? A Zoo day? I'll have to call the zoo and see if the dining area is available. All I arranged was a tour. Do i need to call about the rest?

Our plan was to do the whole zoo thing, so a group discount would be nice but not necessary. having food does sound a little complicated this time. Maybe we should fend for ourselves or, we could always get together at a restaurant before or after the meeting

I vote for fend for yourself as far as food goes. A group discount would be cool but not required, everyone just pay their own way at the gate, meet for the tour/meeting then those that want to can look around the zoo in a loose group.

I agree with fend for yourself.

I kinda think that if we use that idea for all of our meetings we would have an easier time getting hosts.

Seems we have kinda worked into it being the way to do it, host a meeting & buy the food. That can be tough for some on a tight budget for sure.

We can always arrange for after meeting eateries if we wanna.
just my thought.

Yeah, since I have been a member the host has provided the food but I don't think that is a requirement. Someone having the meeting in their home is being nice enough, we could always do a pot luck. Whatever the host and the meeting committee work out.

We (Barrette) are still finalizing the final details on the time. The plan is to have it on Saturday, as always.

I think fend for yourself on food it the best way. We are planning on a whole day as well, and trying to hide, contain, protect food until everyone else arrives is not what I had in mind for the day trip to the zoo.

Hope to have more details on the time soon.

Thanks to Barrett for the leg work on this meeting.

Let me clarify that. I need a time that we all will be ready for tours. He'll have to break us up into groups. So we'll need to give him a time to start the tours. And I need to know how many people will be attending the meeting.

Currently we have 31 people confirmed. Below are the names.

Alkamar
Scarson61
grannybj
luckyarbuc
tenna
MrRyanT
Lcasey7635
Reefdiver77
Nam2212
Dorism
Zebrafish
Glitzyone
Snakemanvet

I think we need to start one tour at 1PM to 2PM for those that are coming early. Then the next one can be later. Will the zoo need some time in between the tours?
