for our 180 we added

140 blue leg hermits
30 large nass snails
3 emerald crabs
1 peppermint shrimp (will get more)
30 turbo snails
6 cucumbers
2 serpent stars
1 large blue star - forgot name

plus transfered them same critters from our 75. not sure how many are left, but sure i will need to restock about once a year.

In my 20g nano reef, I have 6 Mexican Turbo Snails, and 4 Red Leg Hermits. And OF COURSE Bristleworms!

saltwaterfish.com always had good prices on their packages, 90 bucks for 100 turbos and 100 blue legs, i used to toss most of the hermits in the predator tank with the triggers, they either learned to only crawl when lights were out or they became snacks.

I must be a light weight as in the tanks I have owned I have never had so many snails that everyone recommends. I only have 3 mexicans, 2 turbo's, 2 trochus, and 2 conch's for my 300g. In my past 100g, I had no snails and only 2 conch's. If you have great husbandry, you can get away with not making your tank look like a snail farm. Shorter photoperiod, weekly water changes, inspect all new corals before introducing into tank for unwanted algae, cooler water, correct water parameters, low nutrient, etc.

X2 on this ^^^^^^ Everyone I talked to told me 20 turbo snails and 5-10 crabs. I haven't had the money to get any shrimp yet. I took everything they told me, and cut it in half. My snails are doing awesome and I've never seen my Hermits pick on them, believe it or not, the Hermits are usually eating off of the Snails' shell.

i have about 500gallons.. I have 3 crabs.. a couple peps some lost in the sump... and maybe 5-6 "bought" snails..

...look at my tank at nite... all my rocks are white.. MILLIONS and Millions of tiny snails, and starfish.. and all grew off my rocks.

I wouldn't mind getting some nass snails again.. they are fun to watch it's like the movie dune when you feed.

rofl.. reminds me of my old tank.. nothing worse then trying to spot feed lps when you have a squad of shrimp.
