April Meeting head count

OK guys, I am down for the April meet. The food will be better than the tank eye candy but everyone is welcome to visit my home and tanks on Saturday the 15th. I know this is easter weekend and may not be good for everyone. I will let people kinda vote on a time 3ish or 5ish and we will decide from there. I will provide BBQ pork sandwiches, chips, cole slaw, Tea and a variety of sodas. So come eat and enjoy a OK ;) tank. Sorry but not BYOB as my kids may be here.
I am about 35-45 minutes south of downtown Nashville, my address is:
2796 New port royal road
Thompson's Station, TN 37179
a email will be sent to members with my phone #

840 is now open all the way to 31 for everyone east of Spring Hill so I am very easy to find off the main road now. Looking foward to seeing everyone and having a good time. Sorry no topic thought of but open to suggestions. People can look at my home made rock if they want

I am due making some home made fish mush. I left 2 bags of my last batch out all night so I am down to my last quart baggy. Anyone wanting in can bring a ingredient and take home a portion of a big mix. I froze the bags real thin and flat and just break off small chunks every night. My fish love it. If there is interest we can start up a who's bringing what for it thread or I can get all ingrediants and just break it down per person fee to be fair. WAY cheaper and all ingediants are rinsed well unlike the $$ cubes from LFS. Just a idea for a topic/workshop.

I would love to go, but work give me hell taking off for the last one. I'm unable to make to anymore Saturday meetings. I would LOVE to see your tank sometime though, especially when you get a 180 setup. :)

Sounds good I would prefer the 5ish time slot. Do you think the decision will be made by end of this week?

I can finally make a meeting..haven't been to one all year...what ingredient can I bring for the fish mush?

Depends on how many people want in. I thought about it and it would probably be fair for me to just get everything and do a total cost and charge per cup fee divided by how many cups I end up with. Each baggy needs about a cup flattened thin to break easy enouph. I will pull up what I used last time and post. People wanting to participate can give input on what goes in it, I am flexable. I just need myasis and shrimp for my CBB. I will throw in cyclopeez for free, have a huge tub of it, and green alage. I also have lots of flake but it mushed up too bad IMO. Maybe some veggie pellets will work better which I have. I will reaserch the popular recipies and see what people like and don't like.

The 5ish time frame will be more closer to supper so that sounds good for me! And give people time to do other things on Sat. like mow!

I plan on being there. Time doesn't matter (but it sounds like you've decided on 5). And I think I'd be up for some of the fish mush... just let me know what I need to bring ($$ or ingredients).

Hey Mike, I can pick up some for you, There is a $25 trip charge, hehehe, just kidding, how much do you need,

Angela, I think I need about 2 cups, oh yeah, can't wait to see your awesome tank

Sure thing Chris, pick some up for me, I would like 3 cups as my little fishes are hungry little buggers. I wonder how long 3 cups would last? Soon with the new tank, I'll have more fish to feed. :)

Ok I will plan a huge mix then. I made the big bag of myasis ($20 size) and other things and had about 3/4 of a regular blender full if that makes sence. I had about 6 bags that lasted about a month + a bag. I will dig up some recipies today for input, real buisy today so it will be late.
1st question is does anyone want some oily fish added? Like salom for the fatty acids? I didn't because I dummped in some selcon for fats last time but a filet of salmon would be cheaper!! (If you all want it)

I found my old post from 11-30-05. I would have had plenty from this mix to last 7-8 months but I left 2 bags out all night by accident. I would not buy the cubes this go, I just had them in the freezer. I will buy a bag of plankton and stuff for value. If its fine I will front everything because its best to thaw and rinse the myasis especially before using in the tank. You wouldn't belive the brown junk that dripped from the last pound! I stared the things I will do this time and we can add to it. I need to reaserch if small pellets will work good for added veriety instead of flake. I did add flake also and the other freeze dried ingrediants just turned to mush. I think you can add gellitan to it for form and even freeze them in small squares like the pre packed. As far as coral specific food like marine snow or pearls I will have to read up on what freezes well without loosing nutritional value.

1 lb myasis *********
2 packs marine cuisine
2 packs mega marine
1 pack ocean plankton **********
1/2 pack emerald entray
1/2 bottle freeze dried brine
1/2 bottle freeze dried plankton
liquid snow
reef plus vitamins and amino acids *********
garlic gaurd and a few cloves of real garlic ********
selcon
1/2 lb raw shrimp *********
cyclop-eeze freeze dried *********
scallops *************

We can add a big pack of enriched brine just to make the mush stretch farther also if you all want.

I have a good amount of cichlid chow...meaty stuff that I bought at AC and is frozen..I will add this since I never will use it alone again...how about that?

bgfsh, grocery store for shrimp, fish clams and stuff, LFS for mega packs of myasis and such :).

Nash, I wonder what is in it? I am sure it will be fine as the myasis is a freshwater product come to find out. I like to thaw slow overnight and rinse but I am sure it will be fine to quick thaw and refreeze with cold RO water.

Stinky, I wouldn't call my tank awsome till you have seen it  OK maybe....

I think 5 will be better for me, that way my kids can have a nap.
