Using ESV salt has its advantages; even if you do use it for your normal water changes, have a box just in case of an emergency. The salt mixes ready to use extremely quick and is crystal clear.

Mike so you can just mix ESV salt and use it right away without any ill effects on your tank inhabitants? Normally I mix my salt (RC) and let it sit for 24 hours before using it.

@rowjimmy with the ESV salt it is safe to use immediately after it is mixed. After all 4 parts of the ESV salt system are mixed I usually wait for 15 minutes before I do the actually water change. It is great not waiting for multiple hours before you can safely do a water change on your aquarium. I also keep a powerdrill with a paint stirrer on hand to quickly mix salt in case of an emergency/blackout.

I have three now and I usually feed the entire tank (small tank) everyday. I'll admit however, that I sometimes skip a day here and there.

Besides my system being fed continously over 24hrs, they each are also directly fed daily via a turkey baster.

When I feed the tank, I try to jet some into each feather star as well. (with a turkey baster)

I also switched over from using red cyclops from San Fran Bay to Cyclop-eeze.
