Thanks. It has been doing well but it has only been in the system since December 4 so time will tell. For size comparison the bristletail that swam in front of it is slightly over 3 inches. I have been babying it daily. Wanted to see how it does mounted horizontally versus the dendronephthya mounted vertically in substrate. The vertically mounted one receives direct flow from the MP40 while the horizontal mounted one receives flow that is reflecting off the front panel.

It took me almost 3 days to get through but this may be one of the most intresting threads I've ever read and now I'm thinking I need a new tank for some non photo's. Thanks for all the really great info and you have a beautiful tank.

and it started up again tonight...

Working on a piece of Schizoculina fissipara that was given to me over the past weekend from a West African shipment...thanks Jason :) I know it is not non-photosynthetic...don't work I am no t coverting back. Piece came in some hard shape but willing to see what happens with some heavy feedings and minimal led lighting. If the piece picks up; might consider setting up a small tank as an West African biotope or just sell it off. First, just need to bring it back, so it is getting some extra tlc with FM acan/zoa feed.

Today's score from Greenwich Aquaria. Interested to see how it does compaired to my other colonial tunicate.

There is also another sweet coral I picked up but I cant show the picture of it yet....hint: it is from West Africa and azoox. Pictures should pop up next week ;)

Hey Mike, since you always seem to know any help with this sponge I got? I posted in the "sponge section" but you always seem to come up with an ID when no one else can. Whatever it is I love it! Bongo found it at a LFS and it was sold under the name....lettuce Sponge. It is covered in white zoas. Thanks man!

You da man! I knew you would find it! Thanks!!!! Looks like a tough sponge, grows everywhere, but not easy to care for out of the ocean. Looks like I have my work cut out for me. Too bad I did not consult you before buying it. I could nit find it. Oh well we will give it the ole college try.

No prob. If it is difficult...it draws interest...go for it. It's care is only as difficult as you make it ;)

Thanks ;) If you give Jason a call might still have another piece in. Joe out did himself with everything that has come in from West Africa.

Since I am having a few issues with my aquarium stand (veneer is cracking and possible structure issue), looking into something steel or stainless to be made up. Had the idea to add a second CAD 50 onto the system since I can pick up locally for cheap. Not sure if I would like the tanks staggered (one higher than the other) or both on the same level. If staggered they would be about a 6" height difference between the two. Should look visual cool + want to hide the refrigerated feeding system. The addition is in the planning phase. Want to leave the main tank as undisturbed as possible so want to make it that I can slide it close to full onto the new stand. PITA but it can be done since we are talking about shifting less than 400lbs full.

Nice!! How about a bigger picture showing the whole piece? I like the fans he has out now, a little worried as the pictures have no polyp extension at all, but the color and health of the tissue look great.
