2/14/11 my Vanentine's treat that my tunicate synced up with the same blastogenesis cycle as my other tunicate. Could be just a coincidence that it happend with both tunicates at the same time but will continue to observe if there is a pattern.

DD had one last night that was gone within minutes if not seconds. I know because I was hitting the refresh button trying to get it and still missed it :)

That's weird because I too was stalking it and then for about 5mins after it went up I kept refreshing it to see if anyone bought it while I contemplated grabbing it. For 140$ it didn't really do anything for me but that's not to say if another goes up I won't grab it ;). I'm sure there's even better stuff to come.

Hey Mike, can you post your care for your Tunicates, please? Had a chance to grab on locally but not sure of the care. are you doing anything special?

Don, I would be telling a lie if I told you I did anything special for them. Absolutely no deviation from what is done on the day by day basis for my tank. I have worked on adjusting my husbandry over the past several months to get ready for my little one that should be arriving in the next few weeks. Had to get it so that my water changes would be reduced, majority of all the feeding is automated, and daily tank time kept to the minimum. Besides reducing time at tank was able to reduce a few dollars in water changes. Haven't been able to get around the GFO use but need to venture into regeneration...I know Matt what am I waiting for (great write up in AA).

When I get a chance I will write up the listing of the changes and a few lessons learned ;)

oh and here is a quick pick of an awesome fish I grabbed up (thanks Jason & Joe)

the picture was rotated but he is actually upside down. It is Scorpaenodes evides otherwise known as the Cheekspot Scorpionfish.

Thanks! He is way cool.

Tonight West African corals hit hard on DD. Really loving what is shipping in from West Africa...even the photo stuff :)

Mike

Do they get any more colorful? I mean, I almost got the orangey one today but it just seemed- blah. I mean they are cool but...

How much they will color up from what they already are? I doubt more than they already are but I could be wrong. I know some may not like what I am about to say but the ocean is not completely like the picture we try to paint it. There are plenty of corals that are not vividly colored, yet so amazingly beautiful.

No I meant, do you know if any more, more colorful west african stuff is coming. I know not everything is that colorful I mean look at my archohelia...

All depends on what ships in. There should be some pure white Astrangia sp. that is here stateside, which is hot, one of the pieces graced DD this evening. Colangia sp. should come in different variations of pink, to light tan, to close to white. For gorgs, there has been a taste of them on DD, I know of another beautiful green and purple one at GA. A few newer species of tunicates (hope to get my hands on soon). The Tubastrea that has been coming in from West Africa has been been the usual obnoxiously bright combinations. Plenty of photo stuff too for those that are drawn to the light. All depends on what you are looking for Gordon.

Those are awesome corals that really add authenticity and a mature look to a non-photosynthetic reef. Would be great final pieces for my tank just hope they keep coming in for a while.
