Aquabella Bio-Enzyme Salt Water Treatment System

Humaguy, what you had was a bacterial bloom. Might have been caused by many factors, especially if you have used an other bacterial supplement or water conditioner. BBs are caused by a certain type of bacteria that are already in the tank but under stressful condition will multiply rapidly and be visible. So i guess they reacted to the other bacteria being introduced, which is actually good. Bacterial bloom do not necessitate a water change. You should have let it run its course.

just catching up on this...in a previous post I said it was a bb and an odd one...this product did nothing beneficial for my tank and for many months later the tank was unbalanced...would never recommend this to anyone...wc are the best way to ensure a quality environment for our livestock...

I recently use this to cycle a 20 gallon tank with a 10 gallon sump. for the first week PO4, NO2, NO3 were measuring 0 using salifert testing kits. in the last 3 days my nitrate has gone from 0 to 2.5 ppm. the tank has been up and running for 2 weeks now and I have added livestock ALOT faster than I should have. right now I have 2 perc clownfish a frogspawn, candycane, acan, some zoas, a montipora digita and a mushroom. I did a 10 percent water change today and started running a skimmer yesterday. Im going to keep a close eye on my levels over the next week.

I set up the tank 2/11 and added one perc and the zoas on 2/15
on 2/19 my test results were as follows
PO4 0
NO2 0
NO3 .2

on 2/21
po4 0
no2 0
no3 .5

added everything else on 2/21

today 2/23
po4 0
no2 0
no3 2.5

I will keep testing every 2 days and doing 10% water changes until my no3 stabilizes. hopefully everything works out. I don't think I will be using this in the future though.

Hmmm... most of the positive reviews seem to be coming from people with single digit post counts... I call shenanigans!
I'am not trying to say this product is good or bad or whatever, I've never used it and not looking to. I would however like to say post count does not signify legitimacy of post. Its about quality not quantity. I could have 1,000 post of "nice fish" or "tank looks good", on the other hand I could have 10 posts of very well written advice and very helpful info. Not trying to start an argument or derail this thread, just thought I'd point that out.

Havent had time to test, wife just had our second baby so ive been at the hospital. got home tonight and did a phosphate test 0 and my no3 is climbing. i dont have any day light so im relying on incandecent lights so i dont know how accutare this is but it is at least 10 ppm. im not worried about the 2 clown fish but i have 300 dollars in lps and sps that i fear wont make it. instant cycle my ***.

Other than humaguy who posted 6 "I didnt like this product" posts - anyone else have experience to share? phillytec was to report back in July-Aug but I didn't see any updates from that user.

ha, almost 5 years after the op..:lolspin:

Product use 1 year

Product use 1 year

I used the product for one year and still use it but not at full dosage.

The product is what it is do not expect magic. Its a 30 dollar bacteria booster:
You may not need to do water changes for nitrate , but your tank still needs water changes for other things, which makes the advertising misleading.
for example your phosphates will not be reduced , other consumable items like trace elements will dip very low.

SO is it a good/ bad product its hard to say. Can i recommend using this product in a saltwater tank and not do water changes no.

Can i recommend using this product with water changes and as an additional supplement yes.

Curry if your tank crashes it has nothing to do with the product: thats way to much stuff to add in that size tank and having no protein skimmer from the get go is like the kiss of death, How ever i hope everything works out and nothing dies.

I started this Hobby with 2 months of cycle in 30 gallon tank(no water changes just adding water as it evaporated). Once everything was squared away with parameters I used the Aquabella Saltwater Bio Enzyme thing.
(Along with a horrible protein skimmer, Canister Filter for a 90 gallon tank, H.o.b Filter for 50 gallon tank, 35 lb of live sand, 30 lb live rock with 20 lb of dry rock) Been testing religiously every 2 weeks for the past 8 months everything is perfect except my phosphates (Currently .8) I feed way to much I think.

That being said Algae (bryopsis, bubble and hair) Has been introduced threw corals and such many times to my tank and have never made it threw the night. (Im new to this but I find that strange)
All corals and fish are doing well except my one stony coral (Candy cane kryp) and my fairly new Seabea Anemone.
