BTW, Jason is correct in that most of these bulbs share a manufacturer. The major manufacturers are Iwasaki, GE, Sylvania, BLV/Ushio and Venture and most private brand bulbs are made by one of the companies though there are some small outfits in Asia that make bulbs of mediocre quality (in my opinion). Usually these bulbs are an off the shelf lamp branded for the manufacturer. What you are seeing with the new mid Kelvin lamps is an effort by aquarium lighting manufacturers to work together with a major manufacturer to produce a bulb with a specific purpose. Usually to find a median between intensity and coloration. The fixture manufacturer generally develops the formulation and sets the specs and owns the rights to the lamp if it is there formula but one of the big manufacturers makes it.

Is the Giesemann Megachrome 13K available in a mogul/E40 version? This would actually be my first choice, but I have only seen the DE.

At this time they are only available as a DE lamp. Is it not possible to run the DE lamps on your IceCap systems?

We have ordered 14K 150watt DE and 14K 250watt De for the first order. These should be a couple weeks. The retail price is not confirmed yet, they said it will depend on the Euro exchange rate when they import them, but should be close to there website of 81 for 150watt and 96 for the 250watt. DE bulbs.

If they prove to be good quality, we will look into importing there 175, 250 and 400watt screw in bulbs in 14K, they have a 10K 175watt as well.

No word yet on the bulbs, i'm hoping this week though. On those 24watt compacts, so far no luck other then original brand, but got a new connection in Tawain that might come through for them.

Hi,

We are getting 10 bulbs in probably 1 week. We have already had pre-orders for the first 10 though. They are trying to get us more in the next couple weeks. We are getting the only 10 in the entire USA shipment, hard to believe.

These first 10 priced at 94.95 and hopefully price will stay there or go lower in the future, if they go much higher, not sure if they will be worth the price. We will test one out when they come in and see how it compares to the other bulbs.

Good news, some 14K AquaConnects came in. For those that pre-ordered 14K 250 DE, they will be shipping out this week once we confirm payment with everyone. We only had enough 14K 250 DE's to fill the pre-orders only.

We do have left:
3 - 14K 150 DE $81.00
4 - 14K 400w SE $127.00.

If interested in these let us know. We have more on order, might be a couple weeks.

I don't visit this board often, but have been to your website all week looking for the bulb to order with no luck. How do you preorder when it isn't there? One side of my tank has a 14k (blue) and the an old AB 10K (yellow). I am looking for the Aqua Connect 250 HQI DE 14K.

Hi Jason,

UPS delivered the Aquaconnect bulbs from you guys yesterday. I gotta say, I love them already!!! They are a little bluer then I thought they would be, but from my understanding, they whiten up a bit as they burn in. I'll have to take some pics and post them in this thread for everyone as soon as the bulbs burn in some!

Glad they arrived okay. I was surprised on how blue they were, as blue as the 20k AB i think, but i think you are correct, after couple weeks should be a little more white. It's a pretty natural looking blue too.

Jason, I pre-ordered this bulb (AC14K) last week - Wednesday. I was told 10-14 days before I would get them, then I read this thread on the bulb, this post""

Say it aint so! I know it is a good bulb, but I have to move SPS to a new tank and lights are a pretty big requirement. Please let me know if you think there is even a possibility of this bulb being a month or two. Thanks. I think the rest of my order arrives tomorrow.
