I have heard that the X10 controls actually has a power leak, requiring something additional to drain the power leak such as a powerhead?? Does the DC4 have the same issue??

I've never heard of that. The X10 controller works just like a timer. ON or OFF. I don't understand what you mean by a power leak?

The main reason, I am considering purchasing a AC is controlling my Calcium Reactor. That is why I am concerned.

hmm... I have my AQ controlling my CO2 solenoid too. But it always turns of when told to. The DC4 should definitely work as it seems to cut power to the outlit outside of the X10 realm. The only thing that make sense on the X10 modules is the local control issue. I had it with my PC lighting on an electronic ballast. The AQ would turn it off and the X10 would turn back on. I cut a wire to disable local control on the module and it has worked without error for the last 8 months.

Anyone hear any noise recently about the rumored AC III? I'm guessing if the rumors are true, it will be announced July 1, since that's the beginning of Q3.

I'd go for that. At least USB instead of serial. Oh.. and Mac software. That's the only thing keeping me from getting one.

I'm still holding off buying an AQII.. hopefully they anounce the AQIII on July 1st, it's hard to wait!

Hopefully the price on the AQII will drop significantly as well when it comes out. Who knows if the AQIII will be worth the higher price.. depends on what they do I guess.

And then, do you want to "test" the AQIII on your tank.. hmmm.

Ahh well.

I'll be satisfied so long as it has a ethernet jack...

most people end up running them via serial to a old model laptop (p200 or so) with a 802.11b wireless ethernet device (usb, or pcmcia), etc anyways

might as well save them the trouble by just letting us plug it direclty into our networks. or into a wireless 802.11b bridge.

I think he meant he hoped the AQII would be cheaper. But I'd suspect that the AQII will just become obsolete and distributors will continue to sell close to the same price until the inventory is spent. THen the AQIII will replace the AQII at the same price level.

Haven't seen any yet.. didn't get a controller yet, sorta waiting, and focusing on other things in the tank, etc.

If they don't come out with one by late fall I'll probably just get an AQII - they are somewhat tried & true.

I just emailed them. Hopefully, I'll get a good response in terms of their plans...

I understand that they don't want to divulge company plans. But on the other side of the fence, if they don't they may loose customers who are looking for a product that has the options that theirs doesn't, like ethernet!
