I am going to stick it out for another month or two. I know good things take a while. I am only using the pro bio salt and my reg dosing regimen. Everything is real stable. The stn ****ed me off. It's on corals I had for years and couldn't kill when I didn't know what the heck I was doing. I shook up the bucket before my last 2 water changes.? Idk stuff is looking good for now lol

Nice tank. Ya I had a few start to stn as well. One was my Hawkins and I thought was bullet proof. Once I figured out I was stripping the water to fast and reduced my doses everything rebounded

I think this is my problem but all i do is probic salt Np pro, pro bio s and zeo. This weekis the worst and i cant figure out why. Everything looks good but my nems they are all tiny and looking very sad. Normally they are huge

You answered your own question. Back off on the bac and media and go slower.

Update: been using the components 1,2,3 for a week now. Dosing 50-60ml each per day. Everything looks great. I wonder if I can figure out how to post a picture on this thing.

Came home from Italy and have burnt tips. My wife said she followed my instructions. I think she fed the fish too much as the only levels that changed were my Po4 and No3. No3 was at 0 before I left and now its .25.

Alk-7.8
Cal-430
Mag1400
No3-.25
Po4-.04

Going to do a 10 gal WC and see if that helps.

Anyone else seeing residue in the their mixing containers? I've made up a total 400g of the reef salt and I'm left with this brown residue in my 100g tank.

No srangly enoughi had calc build from red sea but that all disapeared after the first 100g i made after that my brutes my heatersand powerheads look new havnt seen a cleaner salt for mixing

I used the probiotic and the reef salt, I let it mix for 20mins and do my water change. No residue what so ever.

How long are you letting it mix for?

I usually make a 100g of salt water at a time. I will let it mix over night and then do a 75g water change on Saturday mornings. The other 25g I use during the week as I do partial water changes while I am in the process of removing detritus build up...downside to bare bottom tank.

And how are your filters/membrane etc on your RODI?

Filters are replaced monthly and membranes were just replaced a few weeks ago.

So after doing some searching I found that AF does not recommend storing any of their salt after it has been dissolved. I thought I had read that your could store their Reef Salt after it was dissolved. I never had this issue with ESV Salt and looks like I will be switching back.

It says on container use once mixed once water in clear think thats ur problem dont add salt till 20 mins before change and dont add salt to the water you use during the week thus salt isnt ment to sit mixing

the 25kg box doesnt have any instructions with it. Totally my fault here....thought I researched it thoroughly but I have found that I did not. Not a knock on the salt in any way. Definitely mixes clean and quick.
