so its day 2 have very limites skimate expected. How good is the pump on this model ya I hear sicce is good but the suction on it is very weak. I dont know if that has to do with the output but it is a lot weaker than what I had. Kinda bummed but hoping it kicks up once slime starts to help it skim better.

The skimmer does take a few days to break in. Also, I'd put your hand in front of the Venturi and see if the suction slows.

I have one of these units and once it broke in I was embarrassed how much waste it pulls out.

so far still a bit weak for the normal amount of skimmate the other skimmer produced, it seems to get better each day but still not there yet.

Thank you for the post. I'm sorry to hear this isn't producing a high amount of skimate for you. Like all skimmers it does require a 2 week break in period. Once this point has passed you should see more production from the skimmer. Is the pump producing a high volume of bubbles? There should be a large number of bubbles in the skimmer body. It should look solid white (or close to it). If not, that would be the problem and you should check the venturi for any blockage. I hope this helps. It does produce a mound of tight bubbles, what it doesnt do as of yet is produce that thick or dark skimmate my past skimmer pulled. Wether that is good or bad I dont know. I will be on week 2 this week so hope it starts to do what I am waiting for. Typical day is 4 oz of iced tea with little to no smell mostly water.
Kenny I have another problem I received an email a day prior to making a book purchase on a 30% off discount, so I went to buy my books and other misc stuff and guess what I forgot to type bookwork in the codes and submitted the order is there a way to at least get store credit or a recharge on my card. I ordered the books because of the email and what a dunce didnt type in the the code. Let me know what I should do.

Thank you for the post. For the skimmer i would reccommend raising the collection cup slightly and continuing to be patient with the break-in period. Thank you for the reply. Are you actually having issues with nitrates in this tank? Have you seen any difference in your tank (good or bad) since you installed this skimmer? If you are still getting very wet watery clear skim it, lower the water level and give the skimmer some time to let the bubbles rise. This will produce a dryer thicker skim it. I hope this will help.
