Aquamend no more

the Home Depot is discontinuing Aquamend brand underwater epoxy around upstate NY. It's being replaced by (what appears to be) a very similar product.

gary-you are on top of it!

Hope that the difference does not mean death to our corals/fish-how much did they sell aquamend for?

they are also discontinuing the fuge bulbs that you suggested, however the brand replacing it looks identical other than brand name and the packaging! :)

is it the exact same thing? No.

Different product name, different manufacturer, different packaging.
I scanned the new stuff's ingredients and it appears very similar in composition and color.

Somebody post the name!

looking....i found epoxygator...looks like the same thing, called Steel Stick. Is that it? shoot, that is 8 bucks!

really? i love JB Weld stuff. Works great. And this stuff is reef safe?

I was just at HD yesterday looking for some for this weekend. Glad to hear the Water Weld is just as good, if not better.

Thanks for the heads up, this can be useful stuff! I just hope the quality is the same.

We have someone at the house that deals with big-box stores and there's always the push for "cheaper" which doesn't always equate to "as good". Perhaps the aquamend company was purchased, HD wanted more profit, or aquamend had supply difficulties? Either way, let's hope it's made in a place that has high quality control.
