Who's made it to the new store? I think it's Hoffman Estates, might be Schamburg...none the less it's on Golf at Roselle. I stopped by yesterday and only had about 15 minutes. They had some very cool store displays. The Chiclid tank that is at a guess 8' by 6 ' tall, wow!
Service seemed to be what you would expect from Petland. I walked past 4 associates and was not acknowledged. Lots of tanks in stock, lots of 'em. The pricing seemed very high $99 for a flower pot, $65 for brown/green zoa, $55 Dispar anthia.
I wish them well, but not sure how they will do with all the great shops in Chicagoland.

I stopped in about a month ago and was very dissappointed with the marine section, especially considering how nice the selection and quality is at the Naperville Petland. But the FW side is very impressive, both in terms of the selection of livestock and the various LARGE display tanks. And I couldn't believe the number of tanks on the sales floor. The tank inventory was probably as large as it is at Aquarium World up near Milwaukee.

I had the opposite experience with service there. I was stopped by 3 or 4 associates and after telling them I was only browsing, were still very friendly and interested in learning about my tanks. But I still wouldn't depend on them for any aquarium keeping information.

Nice big store, fun to look around, but not one that most educated/experienced people are going to buy from. Their prices are simply outrageous.

It has all the symptoms of your typical Petland , but I love that 9-inch Stonefish that they have there. They want $300 when the standard going price is $25-$35.

I was there the day they opened and the line was longer than I had expected it to be. The prices were reasonable on some things, but high on other things. I did not care for it too much since there are plenty of other stores and vendors I prefer to buy from. I have been there twice since the opening day to make sure I didn't miss anything since it was so crowded that day. Did not seem as knowledgeable as I had expected either...

Not to mention they wanted $280 for a paired shrimp and goby!

I know I've seen those much cheaper...

They seem to have decent prices on tanks but the live stock was high. I did get a coupon for 50% off live stock limited to 4 items which was pretty good. I know they have a big sale coming up as I just got another flyer.

We were there a few weeks ago. Really large floor area for tanks and many larger sizes too. Great if you want to just view how a 4 footer looks or a 6 footer, etc. Really large FW section and like others have said, disappointing SW section, particularly in regards to SPS, LPS stuff.

Now I want a tank as a wall like their two huge tanks. The prices were high on the SW section, didn't really look at the FW prices. There should be a coupon floating around.

This place kinda reminds me of a aquarium/pet place out in Elk Grove Village in the past. It has been closed for many years but it was a big pet shop. Anyone remembers the name of that one?

wow...what a throw back to the 80's....that's where i started my fish career....good concept/ bad management...i heard bob kraus sold super pet for $30,000,000.00

aquarium adventure might have a nice set-up but someone has to pay for it(you) and i dont think a living seas in hoffman estates will fly..

in general... it sucks, nothing special, nothing good, one small step higher than petco IMO
