Aquarium Log Sheet

Thanks for all your hard work I love it. Is there a way on the TDS page to be able to enter gallons so we can track our RODI filter/resin life?

I like what you're thinking about here, hadn't crossed my mind to track RO/DI filter/membrane/resin. The short answer is no there is not, it can't be tracked right now. I could definitely add that in, I just need to know what has to be tracked. Is it gallons of RO/DI created? Gallons run through the system? (if this is the case how will you know how many gallons have passed through it) After the tracked figure is sourced I'd need to know what the cutoffs for replacing filters, membrane, and resin would be. The only issue I see with this is everyone's water source is so different that it would be highly inaccurate. I think the best that I could do to make an effective tool for tracking these figures would be countdown reminder. You would put in the date you changed your filter/membrane/resin and then set how many days from then you wanted it changed, the sheet would then remind you it's time to change said part. That's what's going through my head, let me know if you have something else going through yours and maybe we can make something happen. Thanks for the great idea

I can see that your spreadsheet looks great, better than anything I have seen. I would love a copy, if you could send one to me I would appreciate it.

Thank you in advance,

What I was thinking for our DI Resin, is if we entered our TDS and Gallons at the same time we could see at what Gallon usage our TDS starts to climb, and at what Gallon usage the TDS is to high. From there set your color, good/bad/neutral, and have a count down timer for filters and membrane. However, this would only work for the RO/DI units that have flow meters instaled. Just a thought.

I was thinking along the same lines, I just feel it's going to be very inaccurate. The water source TDS, DI capacity, etc. are variable. Without a stable source to track it makes any sort of accuracy near impossible. I understand you're trying to determine resin/filter longevity based on TDS readings, but it is going to be different every time.

I started to work on this right after you posted the idea because I think it's a great one. So far it looks like this

It is still very crude looking, I'll make sure it looks good before releasing, I need to know what other things need to be tracked. So you'll enter in the date you changed said equipment, enter in the number of days until you want to change it again and the "Change On" column does the math for you. The "Days Left" column is self explanatory, right now I have it set to highlight yellow when there are 10 days or less to change equipment, and if it is due or past due for change it highlights red with the word change in the middle. I'm also going to try and implement a pop up warning for items that are due, you'll get the pop up when you open the sheet.

Tracked so far
RO Membrane
RO Filters
DI Resin

MH Bulbs
T5/PC Bulbs(LED's don't need replacing thus they are not listed)

Carbon
GFO

I'm running blank after that. Help me out guys, what else could/should be tracked? What do you think about it?

What about a space for Equipment/Aquarium where you can enter a install date and it tracks the age of your Equipment/Aquarium?

Update!! Parts and Equipment Tracker added in

Update!! Parts and Equipment Tracker added in

Credit goes to theshiver for this idea. Thank you sharing your thoughts shiver, I'm really happy with the addition of this.

Screen Shot of Trackers

For parts tracking you'll enter the date you changed said equipment and in how many days you would like to change it again, the sheet does the math for you and calculates the next change date, as well as counts down the days for you. When the countdown has reached 10 or less days it will highlight yellow, when it has reached 0 you will get the change notification.

For equipment tracking you'll enter the date you put said equipment on your tank, the sheet will do the math for you and display how long that equipment has been online.

I hope you guys find this tool useful, if you'd like the updated copy let me know. Thanks again shiver for the great idea.
