Aquarium Log Sheet

Hi,

Could I get a copy of your spreadsheet?

You've got a great program, the best I've found after searching the net. There's lots of other people that are looking for something like this. Good commercial potential, especially in a mobile version. Somehow I always forget to bring water and my log to the LFS which is about 45 minutes away.

Good luck with the house and I hope the overtime is paying you for the toll on your sanity!

James,
Thanks for the kind words, nice to hear what people are thinking about the sheet. The house process is moving along, looks like we may close early, I'm ready to move. Sanity is slipping a little now and then heheh.

I don't want to under-test.

Kenn,
You should go over to the FOWLR board and check with the folks on what they test for...this really isn't the thread for it, I'd hate for you to get misinformation.

Hi,

One mo copy to kvAtomas@gmail.com please

ok guess I'll have to buy office 2011 for mac... work well with the trial version...

anyways good job ! really interesting sheet !

I added a visual sheet I used before (urbaneks log sheet http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1983603&highlight=urbanek+s&page=9)

I think it is very visual for dosing, maintenance and feeding corals...

might be a useful addition to your sheet !

Yes at this point it requires a standard copy of excel to run(open office won't cut it). In the not too distant future we'll have the stand alone program finished which won't require anything else, followed thereafter by iphone and droid apps. Thank you for the link to the scheduled maintenance sheet, I may do some adjusting to mine.

A very big thank you to Plunderisley for so generously giving me space on his server to host the sheet. This will make it much easier for everyone to get a copy...no more waiting on me, and I'll be able to update and upload a new version as need be. Thanks again Plunderisley I really appreciate the generosity and I'm sure everyone coming to get a copy will too.

Please continue to use this thread to post feedback, ideas, questions, or any other comments. I'm still looking to add content. I will also continue to post news about the other projects.

Sean, thank you so much for contributing to the community with this. While I'm anal about putting everything in a spreadsheet you far exceeded the old spreadsheet I had on my old system. In with new system and Sean's GREAT sheet!

Subscribed so I can follow along if you have any updates. Filling out the sheet and browsing it the only thing I could think of that would add value would be a QT log so you can note when you added the fish/treated them before moving them to DT. I guess this is not something everyone does but mine includes a 10 week cycle before moving to DT so is worth noting:D

Dustin,
Thank you for dropping in to post some feedback, and thank you for the kind words. I'm glad it's working out well for you. I like the QT idea, there currently is a livestock tracker, I could add a couple of colums for "how long to QT" and make it calculate "date to add to DT". THanks again Dustin

I got an email this evening from an unknown and unsolicited address, tumanov@gmail.com.

The email was asking if I'd try a new aquarium log. RC is the only place I have requested this sort of application.

I'm just wondering if anyone else got this email or if it's just spam/scam. I did not click on the link.

Following is the content of the email:

Hello,

I've noticed that you were inquiring about a service to log your aquarium parameters and was wondering if you'd be willing to give www.aquaticlog.com a try.
Basic service is free and I believe that it has a lot to offer over an Excel spreadsheet.

This is a fairly new service with features and improvements added on a daily basis.

With basic free account you will be able to:
- Keep detailed records of your water parameter testing
- Historical data, safe ranges and charts
- Diary of your aquarium events including dosing, water changes, feeding and maintenance
- Keep track of your equipment, supplies (e.g. new salt batch) and aquarium inhabitants

With pro account you will be able to:
- Share your aquarium information with non-registered members
- Keep multiple aquarium profiles
- Schedule tasks and reminders
- Pro service is included for a month for free, no credit card required on sign up

Give this service a try and should you have any concerns or wishes do not hesitate to email us at team@aquaticlog.com.

Thank you,

AquaticLog Team

What do you guys think? Trustworthy or scam? Anyone heard of it?

tebstan,

I've seen that site before and had tried the free demo before but you have to pay to get the 'full feature' list. Not anything better than Sean's spreadsheet IMO. Sean, do we all owe you $12/year now?! ;)

I think the author of that program may have skimmed this thread for emails, I recieved the same thing. It's a pretty low thing to do if you ask me. No, no one owes me any money, I'm just happy happy everyone enjoys it.
