Aquarium Stand Doors

I built my raised panel doors myself. If you don't have the tools, it is easier and simpler to order them from either a local cabinet shop or an online vendor.

If you just want plain/flat doors, you can cut them out and then band them with a veneer. Both HD and Lowes carry oak veneer but I have never seen any other type of wood veneer in a roll in HD or Lowes.

What kind of doors are you wanting?

Agree, even most cab shops I've worked for/dealw/ just order doors if something like a raised panel, cheaper.
Or if budget is tight you can do a flat as earlier suggested.
HD can do cuts if you need/have dims.
A simple face frame door is typically like 1/2" overlay, so basically an inch biger than opening both ways.

I make my own ,too.If you only need a pair and dont have the equipment to make em . I would say just order as well.

I have the tools and knowledge to build doors, just don't have the time.I ordered doors just to get my cabinet done.I spent hours looking at & pricing doors.Barker doors by far had the best pricing. The nice thing is you can get pricing immediately from their site. Most sites you have to fill out a quote form & wait for a reply. Then be disappointed with a ridiculously high price. You can choose form many options also, type of wood, overlay, stile & rail width, and so on. I also read some good reviews on their quality.I'll be reviving my build thread when I get the doors.

I made my own raised panel doors to match the rest of the furniture I have built.

Build thread on my 120 is coming soon. Should have water in it by this weekend!!!

I like to cut the doors out of plywood and band them with quarter round trim.
They can also be banded with trim that has square edges for a different look.

I have a thread on a freshwater forum detailing my door build. Not sure if I can post it here. But if you want a link just PM me.

That's a good find! I used to make all of my doors, with several different styles, but now I don't have a workshop so making doors is much harder. I have done it in my garage, but I don't think I want to repeat the experience. I have bookmarked that site for future use.

Here is what I did. Worked well.

I made my tank out of cherry wood and cheery veneer plywood. I used the plywood of course for the inside panel of the door and 1" - 4/4 cherry stock for the trim. I figured out how wide I wanted the outside trim to be (in this case was 1.5") and cut the boards to length and width. I then used my table saw (a compound miter works better) and cut the 45 degree angles on the ends. I then routed the edges of the boards with a simple round over bit using it to make a bead cut. Then routed the underneath of the wood 3/4" in and 1/2" deep to set the plywood in then glued and pin nailed the trim pieces in place. Since I used plywood I did not rout that to make a nicer looking inside panel but all in all it came out pretty nice.

Get yourself a Pock Hole Jig from Lowes by Kreg. It will join your frames together. You can go with a Shaker style door

Pocket hole jigs are awesome, since buying mine, my cabinetry builds have gotten much better in general. My confidence in my abilities has improved as well.
