Aquascape feedback

Thanks for all the comments everyone. This is my first tank so I want to make sure I don't make a mistake I can avoid this early in the process.

I'm going to take a crack at finishing the rock wall this week/weekend, I think it will make the most use of the back of the tank. The rock is BRS Pukani and BRS shelf. I let BRS pick the rock out for me and they sent me some giant pieces. I have another piece that is probably 18"x20"x12" its just huge.

BigKahuna, it was your build where I got the idea of puting acrylic in the bottom of the tank, not quite PVC but it does what I wanted it todo which is protect the glass. I doing full specturm DIY LEDs for the lighting.

I have two heatsinks setup like this with 41 leds each. If you count them all there are 43 but 2 are moonlight which put out way to much light so i'm going to remove them.

SushiGirl, already have the flipper page open just need to pull the trigger and order it.

The rocks are currently head together with acrylic rod and are just resting on the bottom. When I have everything the way I want it I will mortar some of the pieces together with a little Thorite concrete.

The tank is a Lee-Mar "120", its actually 48"L x 24"W x 25"H, with low iron glass on the 3 main sides.

I really like it. I like the layered effect of the shelves. I may steal some of your ideas when I do my rockscape in the tank I'll be setting up this fall/winter.

Just out of curiousity...what size is the tank and how many pounds of each type of rock did you request? I've been planning on getting BRS rock and then seeding it with a few smaller pieces LR possibly from TBS. I love the life on my TBS rock in my other aquarium but it would be much easier to aquascape using dry rock initially LOL

Also, what exactly is the rock formation on the right sitting on? Are those little leg things the bottom of acrylic rods (or something of the kind) that you used to hold the rocks together?

CloudBurst, I got 100lbs of Pukani and 50lbs of the shelf. The 50lbs of shelf came out to be 3 pieces and it is much denser then the Pukani. The size of the tank is in my previous post, its a 120 gallon.

Picked up my tank last weekend leak tested it now I can start playing with the aquascape.

I'm trying to achieve a minmalist bonsai look while still having places for fish to hide.

What do you think of my current layout? Sorry for all the reflections who would of thought getting a picture of glass would be so hard. The tank is setup as a peninsula room divider. I have not finished the rock wall under the overflow but it gives the general idea.

I still have lots of rock pieces to work but I'm out of ideas.

You nailed the bonsai look! That is going to be sweet once the corals are in place. What did you do to pin them together (rods, mortar, opoxy, etc)?
