Aquatic Galleries and Neptune Aquatics

Hello all. I just got back from Monterey with my wife and on the way back I got to stop in Milpitas! So we stopped at Aquatic Galleries and Neptune Aquatics. First we went to Aquatic Galleries. It was a nice clean store. The tanks were full and clean. The coral were in good shape. Most of the $10 frags were softies. But I did pick up a nice purple haze monti. Neptune Aquatics had easily over 1000 frags. It was kinda busy so we didn't get the kind of service that we got at Aquatic Galleries. They had more frags but they had a lot of the same stuff. They had a bunch of $10 sps frags and some very nice chalices that were way out of my price range. I picked up a green mili and I think the guy said a poker stars monti (anybody heard of that). But it looked nice it is purple with green polyps. Overall they were both very nice stores. Aquatic Galleries had quality and Neptune Aquatics had quantity. At this stage in my reefing skills quantity won. I just wish we had stores like these here in sonoma county. It was also nice to see a fish store that had more saltwater then freshwater. Joe

I love both of those stores and you are right on with your observation. I do support Neptune more because they donate stuff to the club so I buy more from them. Aquatic galleries do offer club discount and the owner is cool, he will work with you and give you deal if you buy a lot. As for local, Steve at coralreefecosystem he has a good selection and prices so you might want check out his stuff. I am still hoping Jofish will get there someday soon cuz I need a fixed . Go Jofish !!!

Huh I find the corals and frags at Neptune's to be of much higher quality the AG.
