I have preordered the new Aquatic Life 4 bulb T5/LED Hybrid fixture. I currently have AI HD 52's. Any suggestions on the color bulb configuration would be greatly appreciated.

2B+, 2C+, or 2C+, 1ABS, 1P+.

Honestly... After having only one C+ in my fixture I noticed all new growth was pointing towards the side with the C+. After putting my second bulb back in, growth is now even again.

I'd have called it a coincidence, but it happened on every single coral in the tank. They all loved the C+.

If you like it a bit whiter, switch the purple + for a coral +.

Coral + have more Par... why your seeing more growth than with the bluer lamps. But I like a windex tank so no Coral + for me.

I would recommend getting a few different colors and seeing what you like. Any combo will grow coral.

But then you're getting into PAR vs PUR, the ATI B+ has more PUR, and less wasted spectrum. That's the dark side of researching lighting -- You just end up with moar questions (at least I do!)

That said, I was running 3B+ and 1P+ and the visual spectrum was great. Although I felt a slightly broader color pop from the C+, and an Actinic. My best color to date was achieved with 3B+, 2C+, 1Actinic. I prefer the Geisemann Super Actinic vs the ATI Actinic myself.

If I had an 8 bulb, I'd run 4B+, 2C+, 2 Geisemann Sup. Actinic.

Haha not really my point. Coral Plus is definitely brighter than Blue Plus and Purple Plus. Why the corals like it. The eyes, not so much.

Fair enough. I like it just a hair more white than most. Maybe like 16k-ish.

I actually went a different route. I did go T-5/LED, but built my own floating canopy. Saved money, to buy some SPS. The T5 bulbs I went with was 2 coral + and 2 blue +. Been up and running for about a week now.
