Aquatice Treasures Store Visit Dec 22, 2010

Kiddie Doo,
I just saw your question about the rubble, that would be great! I saw you also asked Velko about his live stock. You'll have to call him. Unfortunately, RC will not let him talk about his store without being an RC sponsor. He's just following the rules.

Tomorrow! In just over 24 hours Aquatic Treasures will be hosting the SEASL "œFrag'm, Bag'm, and Take'm" propagation workshop.

It is free and open to everyone. Stop in for a short visit or stay the evening.

From 6 PM to 8 PM on Wednesday, December 22, 2010, come try your hand at fragging zoanthids, leather corals, SPS and maybe a mushroom or two. SEASL and Aquatic Treasures will provide all the supplies, SEASL members will provide the instruction, you provide the participation.

Don't forget, Velko will also be offering 25% off livestock that evening!

Come on out and enjoy yourself, make some friends, see some old friends, make some corals, and get a great deal on livestock.

Hope to see you there!

Jim Craig

Well.... Here is what I learned tonight:

Fragging ain't as hard as I thought...
Met a good group of people...
My wife is wrong, there are other out there just like me that is way into this hobby...

Thanks for all the help this evening. I bought my card so good luck getting rid of me now. Velko's store was nice, by far nicest in Metro IL.

Jim and Nick, Thanks for tonight.

Wow, that was fun! We want to give a huge "œthanks" to Velko for partnering with us to do the propagation workshop tonight and offering the great livestock discount. While I really enjoyed doing the fragging with Nick, I think the homemade Christmas cookies were the highlight of the night for me.

Anyone have pictures to post?

Anyone want to give an update on their new frags?

Jim Craig

Thanks a ton for the workshop i had a great time nice meeting people that feel the same about a hobby..... (not shoe shopping)

I am doing a slow drip acclammate 1 1/2 oz turkey baster every 30min

I feel a good time was had by all. Especially me! I got to take home some leftovers that were so fabulous I had to make some room in my tank!(Totally worth it) Speaking of which, I have some yellow polyps I have displaced if anyone wants some.

@ brad - i could take some of yellow polyps off your hands. Free tomorrow during the day?

Frags just got into the tank a little bit ago. Tonight was a lot of fun! Learned a lot and got to go home with some awesome corals. Looking forward to some pictures of the new homes that the corals made it into!

the only frag stuggling is the leather. but I am sure he is just stressed. I love the zoas, this is my first attempt at them. They look awesome.

After the event, it occurred to me the leather frags ended up on the small side. The mother colony had closed up so much it was hard to find a good place to cut it. Still, they should still survive. But it might be awhile before they are large enough to frag again.

Mine looks the same as it did, my zoas have 6 new heads, but the leather is not doing to good. What kind was it? Looks green under atinics ....

glad to hear the zoas are doing so well. If I remember correctly, the leather was a sarophyton. Hopefully it will come around.
