Hi,

What are your thoughts on this light fixture? This will be going over a 75 reef (mostly LPS) tank. Any heat issues?

Thanks.

Hello,

Thanks for your post, this is a new light fixture for us, but so far we have some good reviews on the fixture. To read the reviews please click here

As far as heat issues, this is a T5 fixture, T5 bulbs run much cooler than power compacts and normal VHO lamps, but release much more lumens. The result is an extremely bright lamp that can produce nearly twice the lumen output.

Please feel free to contact us at 1.800.566.3474 if you have any further questions.

Best Regards,

Walter

Did you end up getting this Luv? I'm thinking about it, I'm just not sure about the one piece reflector that it has. Plus I'm a little concerned about (if) the timer setup happens to go faulty after the 1 year warranty is up, what the cost of replacing it is going to be.

No, not yet. I haven't been able to find too much in the way of reviews on this fixture and I have the same concerns as you do regarding the timer and single reflector. Maybe Marine Depot can chime in with their thoughts these issues.

Hello,

Thanks for your replies, I apologize for the delay. I was able to contact the manufacturer regarding the replacement of the timer. The timer on the unit is easily replaceable, it can be removed by removing the 4 screws that hold the timer to the fixture and detaching the ribbon connection on the fixture, now you can put in place the new timer by attaching the ribbon connector to the fixture component and screwing back in the 4 screws.

There is also a reset button that can be used to reset any functions back to the original factory settings, if a malfunction should occur

As of today Aquaticlife is working out the pricing for the replacement timer after the warranty period has expired. If I get any further information on replacement pricing I will post it here.

The Following link is a PDF of the installation and Maintenance Guide for these fixtures

I hope this information was helpful
