BTW I thought I would mention that I decided to go with the Elos. It has a really cool GSM cellular SMS. It will send daily text message updates to your phone and notify you if parameters are off. You can also control the controller by sending it text messages from your phone for user specified actions (i.e. lights, wave pumps, co2), sounds really cool to me. I'll keep you guys posted and if no one minds I'll post pictures when I get it.
It would be best to post such discussions on a new thread when you are ready.

Have fun with the new toys :)

Thanks guys!! This controller is really nice. And I didn't think I could dislike my acII anymore than I already did.

I bought aquatronica couple months ago. I'm ready to install it. Should I wait for the update or go a head and do it right now?

No need to I would go ahead and put it in. Make sure it has the most updated firmware so far. Best to make sure things are good now in case a PH iunterface is bad.

Everything so far is working great except I think I am not hooking up the pc interface properly. Do I need to use a certain usb port for the interface or will any work? I had used a serial extention with my "God rest its soul" acII and I wanted to use it with the aqt. I installed the software but it is not able to connect. When I plug in the usb to the pc interface should the aqt screen recognize it? I tried both com 1 and 2 and it still will not connect.
Thanks in advance,

Clint

Saurus you use the USB cable from the power Strip to the serial Interface then use the Serial cable from the Interface to your PC's Serial port. Any USB port on the powerstrip will work.

Run the software and go into Settings and Communication port and set the port to Automatic.

Lastly press the connect button. Thats the little button on the software that is 3rd from the left and has a picture of the AQT with a blue and Red arrow underneath. This will start the connection, once connected you will see the RED "NOT CONNECTED" change to Green "CONNECTED". When your done working just press the same connection button to disconnect.

MAKE sure all your PC firewalls are down before doing any firmware updates.

Thank you. I have done all of the above but change the communication port to automatic. I thought I scrolled through the entire list but maybe I overlooked it. I will check when I get home. Thank you. So, do you think the 25 foot serial cable isn't a problem?

Clint

Also I have noticed that if there is an alarm or somthing on the screen of the controller you need to hit enter to clear it before it will accept the computer connection.

Twenty five feet is really long, I certainly would not update my Firmware with that cable. For all other things if it works then go ahead, but the firmware, that's another story, if some Data gets lost in the cable your controller may be toast.

:eek2:

Point taken...

What is the conversion for the salinity/conductivity reading so that I may figure out my salinity reading? It is currently reading 42 and I have not calibrated it yet.

Thanks,

Clint

Pysire any luck with the Picture?

Ron what should I do with this second probe (Hey No Rude Answers Please :D )

In the probe settings you have a choice of three different types of unit measurements, just change it to American standard. I Can't remember all the details but you should see it there.

Go into your Conductivity section under settings. Scroll down to Measuring Unit. Press enter and scroll to g/l that will change it to a reading you know. When you calibrate use the measuring unit it says on the bottle you have. Most fluids are ms.

RobbyG,

You can send it back if you like I will talk to Will and find out what he wants you to do.

Sorry it is not to your liking. I hope they have this issue fixed soon so we can get you a new one.

Sorry Robby, I'm workin 12hr nightshifts right now so it'll be abit (monday) before I can have a pic uploaded.

Not a problem, just dont want to scuff up a new probe if it's the same thing. Not sure that Pysire's newer probe will make any difference, except if they spaced the metal Bands further apart it might slow down the accumilation of rust and extend the cleaning period

12 hours is that all :p
Just kidding, man you must be real tired after that shift, no problem on the pictures, I will wait.

BTW Both the probes are marked "EC" but the old one is written in Script and the new one is in Block print.
