I am trying to find a easy walk through, to find out what port you are using and how to change it.

have you tried taking it off auto detect for the com port settings. It didn't work on mine but when I manually set it to "1" it started working. Try that.

How about trying a serial to USB adapter, might make it a little easier. I think you can get one at radio shack. Setting up a serial com port can be a little tricky.

ok here is the deal. wheni plug it into my computer the aqua reads the new port but my comouter doesnt.. i have pluged and unpluged the usb adapter i have into every usb port on my laptop. i have pluged it i turned the laptop off and restarted.. didnt work. i have dont everthing that i could think of.. i know i amm doing something wrong but what? i have an aliemware laptop with XP on it. anythhing you guys can do to help would be great... i think ron and will are gone till monday.

I tried to follow the history of your issue but only saw that you received a replacement controller after it froze during the firmware update.

Have you ever had success with connecting it ?

You have the controller on the main screen when you try to connect, right ?

For the Serial -> USB adapter, I believe you have to install some sort of software...

Ok basically what is happening is his PC is not connecting to the controller. The controller is working fine. But the PC cannot find the controller. I have a friend trying to work with him to work this out.

can someone please help. i am calibrating my brand new pH probe from aquatronica. I have the ref set at 10 and the pH reading has slowly dropped from 9.5 to 9.01 in the last 45 minutes. this thing has not stopped dropping and the manual says 5 minutes. what am i doing wrong?

first time i tried it said bus error now it just says can not calibrate after I go through the whole process

Okay I just tried to calibrate with a working Pinpoint probe and it didn't work either. The readings are way off and it won't calibrate. How do i reset the controller or the pH interface? I've tried the disconnect and that didn't work. Anyone seen this before? could it be a bad pH interface

The AQT probe seemed to work fine on my pinpoint monitor

I assume you are using the serial port adapter and converting it to USB. Right! If you are plugging one of the power plugs USB ports directly into your PC, Don't it might damage your AQ or your PC. You need to get the serial Interface module from Obssessed and then you can either hook the AQ to your PC via serial port or if you don't have serial ports you can get a Serial to USB adapter at Compusa or any other computer store.

Case in point why I suggest you use the long calibration method, please look a page or two up and you will see where I posted it.
BTW RON is right, I did some checking and you need the right calibration fluid if you want accurate results.

robbby i have a serial interface and serial to usb adaapter as well , i got all of it from AO. the problem is threefold.

1.my computer des not read the aqua when i plug it into a usb port on my laptop.

2. the aqua does not read my 2nd 3rd or 4th powerbar. I though it was plug and play? is should pop up that a new powerbar is detected right? i have tried each power bar seperatly and nada what am i doing wrong?

3. i can not program anything, the option on "program timer(page 23 of the manual) from the power unit is not there? what am i doing wrong? the only options i get when i go main menu - power unit - is change name and disconnect? how do i get the other options to appear. i have the plugs labels as to what i want to plug into them.. but i cant program the plug?

what am i doing wrong?
