Why don't you call them and ask, you won't believe me anyway. RobbyG after reading your last few posts, I have to ask, how many times a day do you face your Aquatronica, bow and chant? Seriously man, you need to chill.

Sometimes a mirror comes in handy.

Touche. I admit I have been ranting a little, I'll stop now.

:D A good man is before us. :celeb3:

I'd like to point out that I'm not in favor of these probes rusting. (obviously)

If I do the bi-weekly cleaning (which is 26 times a year, not 96) and I still get rust, well then I have a problem. Especially if the bands start to pit and deteriorate. Until then, I'll see how it goes...

I know this has been chilled down but honestly I have no idea why you think I would not believe you! I really would like to know what you can use instead of metal to make this thing work.

As for Bowing and Chanting:wildone:, shhhh be very quiet, it might hear you, didnt yours tell you how many times to pray? Havent you sacrificed a child or two yet??? Dont get it angry or it might fry your fish:furious:,, dude it watches everything, everything, be very careful it might put the pacemaker module in your chest and dump rust down your veins.

Ahh heck if that was the case you would have been toast already :)

BTW I am an Electronic Engineer and Software Programmer, couple that with my Love of Fish Tanks and the Aquatronica is the Wet Dream part of the package.

Could work and would never need recalibrating, I guess the cost must be the main reason they dont use this method.

....measure salinity the old fashioned way.

Float a hydrometre in the sump. Attach an electronic sensor which somehow sees how high the hydrometre is floating. Controller gets input from the sensor.

Obviously, there's some design issues in that idea that need some thought...I'm just trying to think out of the box on this one.

RobbyG,
I need to apologize, I kind of got carried away, please forgive me if I offended you. My frustration isn't with you but with my rust covered salinity probe. Will has been great in trying to correct this problem and I apologize to him as well. The controller is great and other then sporadic salinity readings it's perfect. The big problem for me is that I was hoping to use an auto top off system, that's why I bought the salinity interface and probe. With inaccurate, sporadic readings this is impossible for obvious reasons. For this reason I've decided to sell my controller if anyone is interested PM me.

I'll let you all know how the new controller works out.

I might look into the elos system or perhaps the ACIII pro.

I would just like to point out that the update is also going to fix an issue with the agenda programing in the PC software.

When using the software to set agenda's, Italy uses a 12.00 system and we use the 12:00 system. This was over looked when translating the software. The update will change this to make it usable on your PC.

Thanks TheMoneyPit! We are very sorry you are not happy with it. I hope you find what you need. Sorry to see you sell it.

As for all the suggestions. I think some of them are reasonable, I am going to go through them and send them to Aquatronica. Maybe these are things that have been over looked.

THeMoneyPit,

You will be a great resource since you will be able to compare the controllers as a USER. I hope you will post your experiences and impressions of your next controller(s) so that we can all learn the results of TheMoneyPit Comparison !!

Thanks in advance,

For those with the "unable to calibrate" message on the pH interface/probe my error was fixed with a new interface and probe. Not that it will help everyone just thought I'd share my solution.

The new interface and probe still read 8.83 when calibrating with 10 but this time it worked.

No problem, I realised you where frustrated so I did not take it to heart. BTW if you can afford it, get the Elos I am dying to hear more info on it, seems like the ultimate controller. I am looking forward to your first review.

PS. Make sure you have a good digital camera we want Pics, lots of pics!

For those reading this thread trying to decide on this controller. I know you're out there cause I'm getting a few PM's about it. I'll say it now so as not to keep PM'ing the same thing.

I really like this controller and quality of the unit. The power bar is better than any I have tried before. I had problems like others but I have stuck it out and they are fixed now. It does everything I need it to do and more. I can't wait to see the updates and added new things. I would not return it and I am very happy with it. It monitors and controlls my system but I do not rely on it completely to keep things alive. If the controller goes down my tank will live so my opinion is probably different from others. I control lights some pumps, monitor probes and play with it on my computer for that it is great IME.

Hey Ron I got my replacement ph interface yesterday I didn't have time to mess with it but I will tonight.

I have a question, is the problem with the PH calibration with the interface? If so how, how do you know if your interface is a good one or bad? Mine is currently not running as I am in the proccess of getting my new tank running but when I did have it in use, I could never get the PH up. Then I checked it against a Milwaukee unit I had and it read correctly. Is AO replacing the interface?

Thanks,
Shawn
