I just got an email from AQT directly and they said it is the software in the pH interface. They have fixed it. They sent me a new interface and it solved the problem. You will know because you can't calibrate the proble. You get a message "unable to calibrate" everytime you try.

As far as being off I have heard you need to recalibrate the probe after a weeks use to make it right. Also use a good cal. fluid like pinpoint or AQT.

I don't know if it is old news but the unable to calibrate message was solved for me by a new interface and probe. so i am more or less happy for now. I calibrated pretty easy. I think the new firmware will really make this a good controller. I will order the redox but wait on the salinity for now. Is everyone happy with their redox? it seams like the majority of the issues were ph and salinty. they are really working on the ph calibration rutines.

The PH issue is definately a software problem that is being address in the update. I explained it in a post a page or 2 back.

The window between PH 7 and PH 9.3 is very narrow. Sometimes confuseing the controller program, calibrating it for 7. When you switch to PH 7 it causes the Unable to Calibtrate.

Ron and Psyire I just got my Salinity probe today, but I am a bit confused, I have not carried it home yet but the probe looks exactly like my old one! Psyire you said yours was different, can you post a pic of it for me? Ron is it possible I got an old one by mistake?

I think Pysire had gotten a Probe that is even older than the one you had gotten in the first place.

BTW I thought I would mention that I decided to go with the Elos. It has a really cool GSM cellular SMS. It will send daily text message updates to your phone and notify you if parameters are off. You can also control the controller by sending it text messages from your phone for user specified actions (i.e. lights, wave pumps, co2), sounds really cool to me. I'll keep you guys posted and if no one minds I'll post pictures when I get it.

No the one I had was exactly like the one that Pysire posted the picture of on the AO forum. Unfortunetly the new one I got is exactly the same again. Man I know this was a mistake but getting things from so far away is a bit expensive, we pay like 45% duty on just about everything we import! Now I have to send this back and do it again.

Pysire if you can do me a favor please post a Pic of your new one.

Question gents. I recently aquired a "previously owned" unit and I am in the process of setting it up. When I installed the pc software and hooked up the pc interface I noticed there was a usb connection which I hooked to the power unit. In addition to that I noticed a female plug hole in the pc interface which looks to accept a power inlet. Can some please tell me if the seller forgot to include this power plug for the pc interface or am I missing something.
