Aquatronica

These modules are very exciting and if they are made available in the near future I'll have to take another look at the AQ. Until then I'll make due with my Elos. I still think the coolest thing would be software that was compatible with Windows mobile so you could control the aquarium from your PDA phone, you would also need a web server module. The first company that comes up with that has my business.... rather they want it or not;)

Nick thats very Interesting info on the dosing pump, if they release a Calcium probe that would make it complete for me.

BTW MoneyPit if you do buy another Aquatronica I think WILL is going to use you in a new Advertising Slogan:) "If we can satisfy MoneyPit, you will definetly be happy" :D All WILL needs is a picture of you holding up a Salinity probe and smiling :) LOL

I am still a bit confused on the SMS, in one write up they only say it can show Tank Status, in another one they make it look like you can control the Tank. If it can control the Tank it really might be more handy than ethernet. I have gotten SMS messages with my phone when I travel to other countries and it comes in about 30 seconds after the person sends it. On the other hand I do like the thought of a web page that has my Tank info,, choices, choices, I will probably get both :D my poor wife is going to divorce me by time this is over. I might need one of you to testify during my Divorce to backup my Insanity plee if not I may loose my house :D

Dude you still up? I thought I was the only late night AQ user :)

I think WILL can swing a Free Salinity Probe LOL :D

LOL, now I would want some free stuff for that picture.

Nope, I'm a night owl as well. The SMS module is nice but a web server would be better for me if I had compatable software for my PDA phone. With the verizon broadband it would be a snap to log onto the controller any time, from anywhere.

MoneyPit What OS is on your Verizon phone? I think the Ethernet is going to be a modified version of the current AQ software, I don't think it will be open ended like Neptune stuff. I was told by an engineer at AQ that they where making all the software and it would not be open to third party developers for now. Of course AQ has been so responsive to customer requests that we might get it if we ask.

I'm running Windows Mobile 2003 second edition. If the web server software is compatible that would be great. There are certain sites, like online banking, that I'm not able to do with this phone. BTW any release date on the new modules?

All the modules where demonstrated at Interzoo, they where all working final products, not prototypes! The fact that Aquatronica has given them a part number and added them to there catalog and website must mean that they are just about ready. If go by there past track record and how they handled the PC Interface and USB hub, you can expect these new devices in less than a month.

I finally started playing with my controller today. Its pretty cool so far. I have a question for those with AQ experience. Should I stick with the AQ ph probe or purchase pinpoint probes?

The AQ pH probes work fine, I would stick with them.

Anyone know what the update fixed for the software? I just downloaded it today at lunch? It was a dll file.

Version: 3.9.2.78
AMS: 2.4.0.0

Thanks,
Chad

Hmmm Its the same software version as before, but the DLL is new. I would assume that the dll has been update to allow the AQ to communicate with the Ethernet. They are probably sending out the dll from now so that they can see if it gives any problems before delivering the Ethernet.

I had one of each, they both worked fine. Looked awfully alike as well.

Did they update the one button timing (for example... shut off the main pump for feeding) from 15 minutes to 60 as it is supposed to do? I have not tried it recently.
