Are daily water changes sufficient for all coral nutrients?

Im using Tropic Marine Bio-Active on my 34 gallon. Is there anything I need to supplement that may not be added through the water changes? Its a mixed reef btw...

I don't test none of those neither. My may target are ( Nitrates, Alkalinity, Calcium, Magnesium). I currently don't have a good quality test for Phosphate so I don't bother to test. As long as those readings are good you don't need to add any other supplements. I don't like to supplement anything I can't test.

I read somewhere that a 100% water change every day in a nano is the best thing you can do for corals! With your tank though, daily water changes would be near perfect if not too small.

without 100% water changes your artificial seawater will become progressively more skewed.
You need to be concerned with supplementing alkalinity, calcium and magnesium. These are the test kits worth purchasing.

potassium, boron, iron, nickel, selenium, zinc, etc are minor trace elements that will be present in artificial saltwater (ASW) and foods- no need to concern yourself with those

what do you mean by nutrient control? only the importing of more trace elements or also the exporting of problem nutrients?

what does a water change mean to you? if it means just changing water, then no. it will not. if you also siphon detritus during every water change, then yes, it can maintain healthy nutrient levels.

for everything new that comes in, something old has to come out of the system will become more eutrophic. this is true for all nutrients, elements, and other compounds that can not be off gassed through bacterial activity.

The answer to this question is no. Any good reef salt mix will provide everything needed for a reef tank to do well. How often you need to do water changes is dependent on alot of factors. I do 7-10 % a week on a my system. Doing a 100% change at one time is a disaster in the making and totally unnecessary. I dont know of anyone who does more then 25% at any given time.

How often you do water changes is highly subjective and is based on the needs of YOUR tank. I found smaller weekly changes work better then monthly large one, your milage may vary.

I have a 20 gallon brute I keep a powerhead and heater in for of saltwater at 1.025. I refill with RODI water when it gets close to the bottom (probably 3 gallons left). I add the salt and let mix at least 48 hours before use. Aside from that 1 day of no water change (every 2 weeks or so) I change one gallon a day every day.

I change 2g on my 12 every other week. I should step it up to every week but I don't always have the time at work to do it & my tank is fine. For corals I have 2 hammers, a frogspawn, & a candy cane.

If you're only changing a gallon a day it probably doesn't take long, but I would just do a weekly or every other week change of 5 to 6g unless you have a heavy bioload or a water quality issue.

Consider dosing kalk if you haven't yet; will take care of lots of cal and alk without waterchanges, which mostly leaves just mag and maybe str.
