Are dotty backs that bad?

Hi again everyone!
I've been thinking about adding a neon dottyback to my tank. Captive bred.
Are they that bad as people make them out to be, behavior wise?
I have 2 anthias, a scopas tang, a coral beauty, a black cap basslett, a Pakistani butterfly, 2 ocelleris clownfish and an aiptasia eater.
Or should I not chance it?
ANY insight would be great! :)

I haven’t had any experience with the neons, but I have had a captive bred orchid which are supposed to be the most docile. I had to dismantle the tank to get the little jerk out of there. Never again will I own a dottyback.

I have an Orchid Dottyback in my 65g tank, been in there 15 months. It's companions are a Yellow Tang, Sixline Wrasse, Occ Clownfish pair and a Lawnmower Blenny. Model citizen, never caused any issues. All fish went in together as juveniles - clowns first and then the others over a few months.

A dottyback will likely go after your basslet. If you really want one, the fridmani dottyback is the least aggressive of the species, and very pretty. Mine was a model citizen.

Okay thanks guys!
Guess I'll pass it up to avoid taking any chances!
Don't have a compatibility problem with the fish in my tank, and I don't want one!
:) Thanks again!
