Hi last night was the first night that both my clowns hosted my GBTA, (usually its just my female who hosts and my male ORA sleeps some where else) and I think they may mate soon this has never happened before, but also idk if they might be sick or so etching so I have a few Qs
1. My male ORA clown goes up to the female and shivers/ shakes his body in front of her and sometimes the female will do this as well in front of the male. They only do it in front of one another and never any where else, and no other fish do it... So is this mating behavior or is something wrong with them
2. Also they are just isolating them selfs in the back corner of the tank where the nem is and when ever another fish goes back there they are chased away immidatly, and agein is this mating behavior As well cause they never use to do this..

THANKS

This isn't mating behavior, but your close. This is dominance fighting. What the male is doing by twitching is telling the female i give up you win. And then the winner turns female and loser stays male. They are pairing up and you will notice in a couple more weeks they will be inseparable and never fight again. Not mating, but close...

They are close. May still be awhile. If you intend to breed, research and a set up is in order. If its a fully stocked tank with other fish and crabs, you may just end up breeding free meals!
