Are my pj cardinals making babies?

My male(i assume) PJ cardinal has a enlarged lower jaw. Is that how the male normally looks, or only when carrying eggs? He's looked like that for a couple months now, but I have 3 PJ's and probably wouldn't notice if his wasn't enlarged for a few days.

Would the larvae survive on store bought foods, like oyster eggs or frozen cyclopeeze?

Update: I guess they were eggs, because his jaw is no longer enlarged.

Did you see any larvae?

No. I'm not sure what or where to look for it. I would assume it became fish food. I'm not sure when he released it either, if that is what happened.
The last time something(not sure what) spawned in my tank, it was a feeding frenzy.

If they are like bangaiis the male will sometimes eat the first batch of eggs.The pic looked like he was carrying eggs.To raise the babies you would need to feed bbs enriched with selcon.
