Are there any fish that I can trust?

I have soft corals, after not having any fish in my tank, making sure that all ick is gone, I finely added my fish back. After 2 weeks my damsels and Clarkii Clownfish start kipping at my mushroom leather, and green star polyps and other polyps. What's the deal, both of these fish are reef safe. Have moved them to the sump till I figure out what to do with them. Are there any fish that are 100% reef safe? Thanks saitoking

Here's a couple of thoughts that might help you. Sometimes what looks like fish picking on a coral is just the fish pecking at algae within the coral. I see you have a lot of what appears to be hair algae, so they might be picking on that. A fish that's hungry will resort to whatever they can find. What are you feeding them and how often do you feed?

They are fed 3 times a day alternating between, flake, brine shrimp, Mysis shrimp, Krill, and a spirulina brine shrimp mix they seem to like the flake the best. They can't be hungry. I watched each one put polyps off and eat them not eating algae. The leather wouldn't come out now and the polyps are half out.

I have 3 clowns, 3 damsels and a flame angel and I see them picking stuff off my three leather toadstools all the time. Sometimes they don't open for a week, so I wouldn't worry.

What size is this tank?
Feeding less will reduce the nuisance algae. Removing the fish will remove the nuisance fish LOL.
In our 2 tanks we have an orbic cardinal, a yellow coris wrasse, and an orange spot goby in one and 2 small pajama cardinals and a yasha goby in the other. None of them mess with the corals. Damsels aren't very nice, and clowns are just damsels as well.

My tank is a 125gal with ATS and a skimmer. The algae is not a problem and is going away each week. Scrubber has been up for 6 weeks or so. I do like cardinals and wrasses maybe I will try one of these thanks. saitoking

My leather at the base looks kind of like he, the clown, may be chewing a hole that's what is worrying me most. And watching them chew on the polyps makes me pretty mad too. saitoking
