Are you running carbon? If so how often do you replace it?

I use carbon because I have corals in the tanks as well. It depends on which tank on often I replace. The longest has been a month.

I run ROX carbon, and replace every 2ish weeks.....seems to work well in my system, but a lot of people choose not to run it, or to run it only in times of high toxicity

I am considering it now that I've added a second species of anemone to my tank.
I just added a very nice long term captive magnifica to my tank that already housed a gigantea.
I've read a few threads where running carbon can help cut back on the nem chemical warfare.

IMO carbon would be a good idea for you, especially with a ritteri...It is my understanding that they can become very toxic

I am really bad at changing mine but I us a full 500g brightwell carbon-P.I place the entire 500g in a filter sock and let it float around in my sump for around 3 months....Ouch!!!! But seems to do no harm but I will say that that carvon does a great job at polishing the water. Almost for got I have a 120 gallonn cube.

Sean, that is my question too? do you run the carbon 24 / 7 and when is it time to change it out? does it strip the water column of vital nutriants or trace elements? (of course we are talking about using brs gfo / gac reactor) does it remove iodine from the water or anything else? I just got one and am putting it online as soon as i get more info.... some say good things about using it and some say bad things, so i'll follow this topic to see what the mixture of answers is...

i run carbon 24/7 on my DT changed every 4 weeks, however on my nem prop tank i only run it when i frag and will cange it every 3 days for 2 weeks then take the last change out after 4 weeks.
