I am trying to decide on a skimmer for a 92 gallon corner tank that i am setting up. 120lbs of live rock and thats it at this point in the tank. any input on either skimmer? perhaps maybe one you would reccomend over theese also?
Thanks Jason

I ran a G3 on my 125 reef and on my 180 FO. For the 330 that I just built I went with a G4x. I've been very happy with them.

I have a ASM G2 on my 90g, I hate it! I'm buying a Bermuda BPS-5C for the 180g that I'm in the process of setting up right now.

i have a bermuda aquatics skimmer, though not the model you are mentioning. i also use er skimmers...similar to asm's...

so...hopefully i am qualified to opinionate a little on this...

i have found that the bermuda outskims a similar sized er skimmer (which would be similar to an asm).

in the pic...yes, i am skimming very wet. please do not say that it is easy to skim wet blah, blah, blah...i've already heard it all...i LIKE to skim wet...a skimmer still needs to function well to produce the wet skimmate. plus, the quality of materials used for the bermuda appear to be much better than those used for asm's.

so, in this pic...what you are seeing is a bermuda with a mag 3 on it. in the cup is about one days worth of skimmate. in the er es5-2, using a sedra 3500, what you are seeing is three days worth of skimmate.

bermuda is a fairly new skimmer player on the hobbyist market but they have done mucho commercial set ups.

just an opinion in the ever confusing world of skimmers!!!

From what I have seen the ASM are middle of the park, but I have seen a couple Bermuda skimmers and they seem to work very well. There build quality is excellent and they are not on the noisy side. I have seen a lot of good things from this company, skimmers and calcium reactors

The fact is the the Bermuda skimmers perform, and perform well. There are always going to be those who think that a needle wheel is the only way to go. I can say that I was at frag farmer last weekend and in his new facility he is running bermuda skimmers. And not the comercial ones but the hobbyist skimmers. He was even running a 3C on one of those systems. BTW, he used to have Euroreef skimmers in his old facility.

Good job! I cant wait until I get mine! If I can convice my fiance I'll get the BPC-8C like taekim78, but it'll probably be the BPS-5C, which should be more than enough for a 180g! But Man, that BPS-8C is BAD ARSE !!!!!

they don't....you choose what pmp you want to use...eheim, ocean runner, mag drive, etc.

jasonmartin....if you need any help or tips let me know, i ran the 3C for almost 6 months.

so the venturi and the fine bubles are created insside of the skimmer, not the pump right??...so how do you get fine bubles without a pin wheel??? like the euro reef???

i am currently using a berlin turbo, but the venturi is created in the tip of the pump...well it gets clogged badly..and needs to be cleaned weekly if not no skimmate....sucks...i am now hunting for a new skimmer ans stumbled on this new bermuda...should this be my route instead of the euroreef??

I will post pics tomorrow, right now it is next to a 55 gallon drum full of 120 lbs of live rock. it has been running for 5 days now with only one adjustment in height, the nastiest turds i have ever seen are in my collection bucket, about 2 quarts so far. Love it! by the way running it with a maxi 1200

Ok bad info back there I am using a maxi 12c not a 1200 sorry, anyways its been over a week now and it is running perfect. I just cleaned the collection cup out last night, I havent made any adjustments either since the first setting. Pure sewrage coming out. I will try to show pictures below. Thanks all!
