ASM G1 Skimmer

I have an ASM skimmer that I am having an issue with. The cap on the collection cup is leaking foam from the four tabs where the top locks down. I get four long spouts of foam that almost reach the water level by the time that I get home. I clean out the cup daily. I don't have any pics at the moment. Anyone ever have a similar issue?

I have a g2 and I don't even need to lock the cup in place to prevent leaking. It can just sit on the top. Take a look to see if something is preventing the rubber seal from contacting all around.


Edit: didn't realize you wrote the cap on your cup. I'm curious to find out why you have so much skimmate. The cap will not prevent water from overflowing, it's really only there for easy access to clean the cup.

I did a mesh mod on it and I have a ton of foam being produced.

If the locking tabs aren't cleaned properly it could result in the cap not sealing properly.

I also have the g1x and if I have the adjustment tube too high I get the foam you are taking about... push it down just a smudge... or in my case I pull up the bubble foam over the top of the adjustment tube and adjust that way.

I get that sometimes on lthe 4x and 4xx I use. It generally occurs when lots of skimmate is being produced when dosing vodka and vinegar.

I dose 10 ml daily of vodka/vinegar/dextrose
