ASM G1x or Octopus 150NW

Planning to update my CSS 125 by a ASM G1x or an Octopus 150NW.

Which of these two is better for my 55 reef + 30 Sump?

Are they better in production of skim mate than my old CSS 125?

Please help me choose...

I dont have any experience with the Octopus, but I can tell you that I wouldnt hesitate to put an ASM on any tank I ever own.

I love my ASM skimmers, they work, they are easy to care for, its just alot of bang for the buck.

I would say either skimmer would be an upgrade to anything made by CSS. If I were given the choice I would get the NW 150

The aquaeuro skimmers are getting a lot of talk theses days. Might want to check them out. There is a big thread going in the Lighting/ Filtration forum.

you can get a recirc 135 for 159.99 there.. i ordered the classic 400. it will be here monday.
there is a thread on here with pics, and all kinds of info. check it out before you make your decision..

The AE 135 looks good but I don't have room for this type of skimmer in my sump.

are roughly the same size. I would go with the aquaeuro over the octopus, same company but cheaper

either one would be cheaper and better than the RS80 below
