Asm skimmer

I am sure his parents don't know he is trolling on the Internet again. Children will be children.

What was the old Forest Gump line ......?

Ah well, back to useful discourse ...... I'm not suggesting that the ASM skimmers cannot be improved upon. The gate valve mod is well worthwhile, tho the recirculating one doesn't work for me. I suppose the thrifty side of me rebels at the thought of spending big chunks of change on a few plastic tubes.

wow I missed all kinds of stuff over night lol. well glue who would glue that im not sure if you stay on top of cleaning salt creep is not an issue. plus who cares how it looks that is why it is under my tank inside the stand. anyways Im not sure if I want to spend the money on the gate valve mod I played with it last night and I think I have it right now. we will see. not saying the gate mod is a waste but I would rather keep my $50 bucks and put it towards a apex system that's just me. I thank everyone for the help and I will post a few pics later tonight

The ASM line worked well. I doubt I would recommend anyone buy a new one today, there are much more efficient alternatives but used they are a great bargain. I bought mine in 2005, I needed a recirc skimmer and ASM was the best alternative to the overly high priced recirc's at the time. The gate valve isn't required but it does offer a very fine control of the level in the skimmer.

Typical daily skim from a 125 with a high bio-load, tank was carbon dosed and ozone powered.

And the tank it skimmed...(no mortgage was needed either)
