asterina advice

It seems like over the last couple of months my tank has had an explosion of asterinas. I have always kept an eye on them as I have heard that some eat zoas. Well, over the last few weeks, I had a small colony go from 10 zoas and now they are down to 2 as every morning I notice one or two asterinas on it.
I also have a few serpent stars and a blue linkia that I have had for close to two years.

What would you do? I was thinking it was time for some Harlequin shrimps to help in this problem. I really did not want to get rid of my linkia, but I guess I could put it in my garage tank.

From what I have heard on harlequins is that they will probably go after asterinas last if at all. I hear that asterinas are their least favorite food and that some wont eat them. A blue linkia that has survived for two years is impressive... i would just start to pick out the asterinas at night when they come out (red flashlight to find them).

I started that process, but I have hundreds in my tank. I guess I will need to do a little more research on them. Thanks

I don't know but i've read a lot here on RC of people using harlequins succesfully with asternias. But Marko, you got to decide whats more important to you the zoos or the linkia. Cause most likely they'll go after the linkia and other stars before the go after the asterinas.

Thanks Charles. That was what I was thinking. I would probably put the linkia in my frag system for awhile.
