ATI Powermodule Hybrid Club

Hi all just an update on the Clock loosing its settings during a poweroutage.
Firstly, I was told the was a battery on the PCB for the clock. ATI Germany have informed me that this is in fact false and it its a condenser that should hold charge for a limited amount of time, It seems mine is not working. I also still don't have a solution and am waiting on another reply from ATI Germany.

my dealer told me that the raw truth is that Ati is of course aware of the problem but has failed to fix it.
The solution for them is the wifi ballast that takes time directly from the internet.

This is false. We have a fix, it just hasn't arrived yet.

Also, the wifi ballast does not take the time from the internet it takes it from the device connected to it. It does not connect to the internet, it connects directly to the device via wifi. For example on an iPhone you open your wifi, connect to the Powermodule, program, save etc then connect back to your home wifi network.

Hi all,

I'm about to pull the trigger on Powermodule Hybrid. I'm looking for a bit of reassurance on a couple of things.

Firstly, my tank is 5x2x2 which will be an SPS dominant mixed reef. I intent to buy a 4 led cluster (5ft) unit. The retailer says that a 4x T5 unit is more than enough. Should I consider an 8 x T5 unit?

My second question was whether anyone controls their light with a GHL Profilux controller? I understand they might be compatible? Is this correct? I know there is a DIN output on the controller which can be hooked up to a PC. Can it be used to control the unit from a profilux?

I think a 4 bulb unit is plenty for 24x24 inches, but 8 would certainly be more than you need. Generally speaking people don't give the LEDs much credit for output, the reality is they have very high output. What would people say if you were going to do 4x (insert your favorite 75w LED brand here, eg Hydra 26, Kessil etc) PLUS 4 T5 bulbs?

Another option is to wait for the 6 bulb to come to North America, I just don't have a timeline for this so it may be too long for your needs.

Thanks Keith.

With this hobby there's always a temptation to go bigger but in this case it might be overkill

If it was a 48" fixture and you could dim it I would have a different opinion too, but since we don't have dimmable 60" here it changes the situation.

This is NOT false.
Arrived where?
I live in Europe.
No news about a fix here.
If you have news, please direct me.
Regarding the procedure you explained I think, more or less, is the same I wrote.

If you have a Wifi version you need new firmware.

If you have a SST you need a new controller (just the controller, not the whole box)

If you are in Europe, you'll have to go to your dealer for the controller. I can help you with the firmware but will need a photo of the stickers on the underside of your control box leg.

What do you mean for controller?

To update I opened a ticket with ATI Germany. they were brilliant and a Guy called Klaus helped. He sent me a firmware update that i installed via light studio. The problem appears to be instantly rectified.:wavehand:

Excellent! What version fixture do you have? Sounds like perhaps the newer Wifi version?

No Keith, I have one of the last non wifi, the date of the old firmware it had on it was dated 28/08/17.
I was pretty annoyed that I waited for so long and then a month later they bought the Wifi version out. However I seem to be really gifted at doing stuff like that!

Hi Keith,

In Australia we have the dimmable 80w (60') unit (I believe, just checking with my supplier on this!).

If you had the dimmable 4x80w option would you prefer that over a 48" inch 8 bulb unit over a 5x2x2?

Sorry for the slow response Punchanello, apparently I am not getting email notifications anymore.

Yes! I always prefer a fixture the length of the tank when possible. It fills the tank the best and IMO looks the best cosmetically.

If I had a 5' tank I would use the 80w even though its non dimmable. If I had a 6' tank I would still use the 80w.

Hi guys, sorry for my bad english.
I have an Ati Hybrid 8x39 with some problems, I want try to fix it with a firmware update. My actual fw is 1.03v, where I can download the lastest fw?

I am not aware of it being available for download anywhere due to the fact that you need to ensure you have the proper firmware for the exact version fixture you are loading it on. Please PM or email us a photo of the stickers on the inside of the leg so we can determine which version you have and which firmware you need.
