Attaching Rock To Bottom Of Aquarium

I've got about 50 lbs of Pukani rock going in my 75g tank. Some of this rock I want standing vertical. I know I'll have to saw the bottom off flat but what is the best method for attaching these pieces to the bottom of the tank to make sure they don't fall? I want something that I could remove later if need be but still very strong.

I would use a PVC platform, drill the center of the rock and epoxy PVC pipe to it and then stick the PVC pipe into a base plate. Don't have a picture but do a search on here for PVC rock aquascaping

Something like this:

There is a pipe running up the center that is hidden by the rockwork.

You don't need, or want, to attach your rock to the bottom of the tank. And besides PVC pipe you can get plastic or fiberglass rods which require a much smaller hole, but hold less weight.

All my rockwork is attached using acrylic rod holders, this is how I make mine, but just straight rods can work too if you drill into a base rock.

These are all great ideas, thanks guys! I was just thinking I could silicone the rock to the glass; which I didn't think was the best option.

I've got one particular piece that is about 15" tall and about 4" around. I wanted to have it standing upright. The acrylic rods would work perfect for that one!
