Attaching to a 180

salmon alley

Hi Roger,

I'm having a tough time figuring out how to attach my Tunze 6000 to a standard All-Glass 180 gallon.

Should I attach it to the plastic rim? or is another configuration better?

I feel foolish, but can't seem to figure this out..

Thanks
Jeff

Nice avatar!

Anyway, if you have the part 3000.244- optional attachment kit for aquarium with plastic trim it should be no problem. This kit includes longer screws and a suction cup spacer to provide a sturdy mount over plastic trimmed aquariums. They run about $3.50 and most dealers have them.

Hi Roger. On this same subject. I have just received a TS/24 kit plus the optional bolts from 3000.244 and I just want to confirm that these metal coated bolts are in fact impervious to saltspray/creep/water. I would hate for them to rust. They say stainless steel in the instructions. But I want to make sure. They appear to be coated with a matt black coating. (stainless steel is usually bright shiny silver last time I checked). Thanks in advance for your reply.

I thought the same thing and learned they are not only stainless steel inside they have a plating over that. I cut one across one time and verified it myself because I was suspicious. I was told they are one of the most expensive screws available and almost completely impervious unless submerged.

That's good news. I really appreciate your quick reply. Back to work setting these up.
It's great that you take the time to answer our questions. I am very happy with my Osmolator and that influenced my choice of the Streams. Your support and dedication goes along way to promoting Tunze products.
Take care and thanks again.
