GSM Batch IV was laid down today.

I transfered the remaining ten eggs or so to the larvae bucket. We shall see how they do.

The GSM eggs are looking a lot better this time around. I have only seen 1 white eggs so far. We are still at about 400-500 eggs as a best guess. I really have no idea when to pull the eggs this time.

OCP3 eggs were gone the next morning but I never saw any larvae.

I received my Rotifer Diet yesterday. I have not opened it yet, but it is sitting in my fridge. I don't really know how to go about freezing it. How do you guys do it. I have small ice cube trays that I use for my fish food. This is how I froze the other instant algae I used but found that the algae does not freeze the best and one cube is way to much to feed! Is it better to mix it with a little RO/DI first then freeze. once a cube is thawed out can you mix it with RO/DI and store safely in the fridge for a week or two?

I also order "The Complete Illustrated Breeder's Guide to Marine Aquarium Fishes. By Matthew L. Wittenrich" I have read about 30 pages and already love the book. Can't wait to get into the dirty stuff. If you don't have the book I would recommend it even though I've only read 10% of it.

I finally have brought my reef tank back up to 1.025-1.026. Everything in the tank looks better. My corals have perked up and my anemonies although still bleached appeared to be doing better. My cyano was almost gone last night and I noticed that my cheato had gotten much bigger. Hopefully I have turned the corner on this problem for good.

I put mine in a large ziplock freezer bag and cut a piece off and mix it with water in a bottle and keep it in the fridge. I use a drinking water bottle and it lasts me a couple days. I think it will last about a year. My reef salinity is down too. I need to start getting it back up. I have my skimmer to wet to help filter all the extra food I'm feeding my pair / corals.

I put the algae into the icecube trays and made 84 ice cubes. Once frozen I will put 10 in small ziplocs and then put the small ziplocs in a big ziploc. I find that opening and closing the ziplocs so much creates a lot of frost in the bags.

Now I can tell you that the other Instant algae I have is off, both the smell and colour are completly different to the Rotifer Diet I just recieved. I'm not sure if this is causing my problems, but we shall see what happens.

I took 136 fish to the fish store tonight. The owner was not around so I have to talk to him tomorrow. I still have probably 40-50 more of the largers ones and still 30-40 of the smaller guys left. I can't believe how fast they add up. So in all I probably had about 200 in a 10 gallon tank. A little too much and would explain why I got a jumper or two once and a while.

The GSM eggs are progressing really well. They have thinned out a little but no where near the last time. I still probably have at least 300 eggs.

No other eggs yet!

I buy the quart bottle of Instant Algae Nanno 3600 which is very concentrated. When I get it, I pour it into individual 2 oz. plastic containers (from a restaurant supply company), put the top on it, then stack them in the freezer. Once they're frozen, I put them all in a zip-lock bag (with the date written on it) for easy storage in the freezer. This way there's very little contamination and no freezer damage.

I thaw a 2 oz. container in the refrigerator and can use a fresh liquified portion as needed. I use measured teaspoons to add to my RO water. Basically, a 2 oz. helping will give me 2 quarts of green water. This way, my mixture is very concentrated and I'm not adding too much RO water to the rotifer cultures, which would bring the salinity down.

A quart a green water feeds 3 5-gallon cultures of rotifers (and a little for the fry tanks) and lasts me about 2 1/2 days. When I'm ready to make another batch, I just take a 2 oz. helping out of the freezer, let it thaw then use it. This has worked great for me!

Thats sort of what I am going to be doing now. Each ice cube will be put into a 2L bottle with RO/DI water and will probably last 2 or 3 days.

My rotifers seem to have taken a turn for the worse. I may have to restart one or possibly 2 of them.

OCP1 just laid down batch VII. So they should hatch the 21st.

Tonight will be night 6 for GSM Batch IV. Not sure if they will hatch tonight but I think I might move them just in case.

GSM batch IV have been transfered to a 5 gallon tank. I added rots and rotifer diet to give the water a green tint. Rotifers are not super strong yet but three cultures seem to be holding their own. With any luck I should have some GSM babies in the morning.

Very informative thread. I spent a good part of the day reading through it as I am contemplating raising my Onyx clowns eggs that just noticed a few days ago. I just don't know what I would do with all the offspring lol.

Some hatched the first night more the second night and still some have yet to hatch. They are swimming around. Not sure if they are eating anything as it looks like they are still consuming their yolk.

GSM IV: Many were alive and well this morning. I have no idea how many hatched and the total count now so judging my success may be difficult.

OCP3 just laid down the most embarassing nest ever. Maybe 20 eggs. The only thing I can think of is I possibly interrupted them this morning. Or I completely missed the hatch a couple of days ago and it is down to this number already. However they don't look like they were laid this morning, so I probably missed it!

How do you miss eggs? lol.

Not sure, I've become very diligant at looking for eggs every day now. These 10 or so eggs just don't look normal!

GSM batch IV is still looking very good they have large round silver bellies. I've started BBS. I may not feed it to them tomorrow. Just kind of getting myself in the routine again. It's been a while since I have need them.

GSM batch V was layed down sometime today. Will probably be another partial hatch between the 22nd and 24th. Another medium sized nest probably 400-500 eggs. However only about 50-100 seem to make it to day 6 or 7.
