MARS' very own Bruce Azzarito of Captive Reef Systems (www.captivereefsystems.com) will be speaking on aquarium design and setup. This should be a very informative meeting as we get the opportunity to hear from a professional how it should be done properly.

if you would like me to address any particular question about setup or operation/management, please let me know so I can include it in my presentation.

Thanks and see you on August 18th

Bruce

Ohh... Yeah! Now I just have to find some additional reasons to be back down in Sac next month. hmm.

Bruce, I'd like to hear you speak about frag tank set up and refugiums. I'm also interested in learning about air lifts.

so many topics, in so little time :(

bruce,
i'd like to see a lot of pics of the systems you've setup over the years and their various stages of maturation. say quarterly pics of success as well as any hurdles overcome.

seems like the one prevailing problem we reefers have (or will have) is nuisance algae in one form or another. perhaps we can learn how your systems are able to prevent or defeat these problems.

Hey Bruce, great presentation tonight . Very practical approach describing working systems especially in huge perportions. The difference from what I took from this though compared to others,is, I didnt get lost in the grandeur of everything, not a slide show of a spaghetti mess or V8 powered pump saying" just check this out nice eh?". It really pulled everything together and the put "big" picture in perspective. Thanks.

And the resume so far, holy cow! Those were some impressive tanks, I had to come home and tell my lady bout that big one at the real estate tycoons house.Or maybe I just really like acrylic. ;)

Very enjoyable and informative presentation. Lots of wise words. Thanks for taking the time to put such a good presentation together.

Sure made me want to upgrade to a much larger tank. (Not like it doesn't live in the back of my mind most of the time anyway.)

Thank you. I had a great time and the questions at the end where excellent. I hope I was able to show what can be done and how to apply some of our successful techniques to the not so large aquariums.

Bruce-

Thank you for such an enjoyable and informative talk. With the Deltec Calcium Reactors how are you controlling the pH (I'm assuming the probe is in reactor)?

Thanks again.

Marc

Yes very very nice and informative.

Thank you for answering my questions, I will apply what you said about the feeding and see about the nitrates. I did go home and look at my cheato and spread it out thru my refugium.,... IT DOUBLED from the big 1 foot ball it was.

The larger reactors do have a pH probe, but all you really need to do is get the right combination of water and co2 to create a 40 dKH product water and you should be good to go. Also, try to allow the product water drips to fall as far as possible before hitting the water in the sump and you should lose most of the co2.

Thanks again Marc for the opportunity to speak before the club.
