Yes to the first. No to the second; I haven't added a monti since the nudis started showing up in the hobby (except for the sunset, and it was dipped in strong Lugol's and the "dead" portion pressed into epoxy to "seal in" any eggs that may have been there -- although it was recently cut with a bandsaw). Just keep and eye on it, they seem to love those encrusting montis from what I've read. For you, UTS is actually farther but it's considerably closer for Knox. folks.
