Hi just picked up a beautiful juvenile Australia harlequin tusk. Was curious if there was a definative way to tell if it truly is, I don't really have any reason to doubt.
It's a juvenile Harlequin Tusk. Not really any other fish look like that as juveniles or adults IME. Nice pickup! Wait are you trying to figure out if it is Australian or not?

Hmmmm... I read a few articles and threads regarding this and I couldn't find anything. I think only time will tell...

For the past few weeks, Diver's Den has sold about a half dozen Australian Juvenile Tusks. They were selling for $179 and selling very quickly. My guess is that there was a decent collection of Australian Juvenile Tusks recently.
It was at my local LFS. He received it from QM labeled as an Australian Harlequin Tusk. It's 2/2.5 inches in length so a very nice length. They had it about a week and half before I bought it. My main concern was it eating and it's eating with gusto. I paid $165; that was after a little discount too.
