auto feeder with 6100 and single controller

Hello,

I would like to add an auto feeder to my system for while on vacation.

I have a 6100 in my tank, with a single controller.

What is the best way to shut the 6100 down while the auto feeder is doing its thing?

Is it ok to put the pump on a digital timer and shut it off for fifteen minutes around the feeding?

The timer should be OK, their is really no other way to do it.
