Automatic filter roller reviews

I'm wondering what this group's opinions are of automatic filter rollers? Now that they've been out for a couple of years and there are several brands, what is the general consensus?

I'm considering picking up the aquamax for my new build.

I have a Clarisea on my 90 and it only lasts about 3 weeks and is not that easy to change, not near enough filter floss in cartridge because center ring is so large, yet the size of a roll of toilet paper. Had a Thielling Roller mat on another system that Phil now has and it lasted for 3 to 4 months, much larger roll that lasted a very long time in comparison.

On my large system I have purchased a SeaVisions Commercial roller, but have not put online yet, I do like the idea behind the roller yet make sure the roll is long enough to give it value.

A quick note my wife feeds very heavy so my rollers will not last as long as others.

I have purchased a SeaVisions Commercial Roller system for my 400, but have yet to make the modifications to put online and have run sock less for about 6 months. My sump is filthy and my Nitrates are creeping up, did 350 gallons of water change in last 10 days and dropped it from 40 to 20 Nitrates. I need to thin out some fat fish!

Thanks for the feedback. Very tempting but not quite sold on it yet. Changing the roll seems like a pain in the butt pretty much across the board with all of these things.

I've bought the AquaMaxx version but haven't installed yet since my tank is still in the works. From what I read, ClariSea has a finer micron roller sheet, so it will burn through the sheets pretty fast.

The AquaMaxx seems to be good quality, but time will tell.
